Greetin's all. Just sailed in lookin for places to talk pyratey things. Capt Jack Daniels told me about this place. Bit of a background I attend/perform at various local faires. Both as a pirate and medieval/renassaince stuff. I have spent way to much money on this little hobby :) Currently I am about to finish a fun event here in Tulsa called HallowMarine. Put on by the local aquarium. They have set the whole place up as a dock/port area with a haunted sunken ship in the background. Pretty much your typical hollywood pirate type vein. Being pyratical and giving out treasure to small children. Great fun. um...lets see..that's about it... basically just a message to …

This is my first topic so I'm going to start with why I'm here. I am currently researching Madame Ching, whom I believe was an 18th century whore turned pirate. Can anyone suggest, recommend, point me to any resources on the orient in the mid to late 1800s? This would include any information on Ching, her husband, her crew, etc. I've chosen this as the inspiration for my 2006 Nano (National Novel Writing Month) piece and could use all the help I can get. *laughs* not exactly a newbie question is it? Nano starts November 1st and requires 50,000 words by the end of the month. Thanks for sparing me some time. Ebs

My name isn't really Larry...but it sorta rhymes... Anyway, I'm new here. I'm getting into the whole pirate reinactment thing slowly...joining a local San Diego group...the HMS Stranglehold. I'm also going to be playing Long John Silver in an upcoming touring show for Treasure Island. So...it's pretty piratey for me right now.

Who knows their buccaneer and pirate history? Here's the question: This man blamed a famous buccaneer for the death of his brother. Seeking revenge, he attacked the buccaneers' haven filibuster style—taking no quarter. Unfortunately (well, fortunately for our buccaneer!), the assassination attempt failed. Accounts vary but one says he was captured and put to death with two of his lieutenants by being "torn alive on the rack." The rest of his men were hanged. Who was this revenge seeking madman? —Vanderdecken

Friday was really nice, but by late Saturday the wind had changed and the smoke from the fires was drowning the event and made me very sick. Sadly, we had to pack everything up and come home. We could clearly see the flames from the fires heading straight for Santa Paula and Ojai from the 126. There was a HUGE caravan of firetrucks along 126. We got home around 11:30 PM and finally in bed an hour later. Sadly I was horribly ill, and the Porcline God became my friend for a short time. Then around three something in the morning, I had a horrible leg cramp in my left calf that woke me up screaming in pain. Something I haven't had happen to me for many years. Basic…

Heard on CBC radio "The Early Show" this morn of a Vancouver BC household who has a Pirate Treehouse. They've been attacked by petty bureaucrats who say they need to spend $4000 or so for a building permit, even though the treehouse is not visible from the road. Flying under false colors, the city were, since they had told these noble folk that they did not need any permit when they began. I'm trying to find out a link, picture, etc - any Canadian Pirates out there? I think these fool bureacrats need to be keel-hauled - or at least drowned in ridicule!

***PRIZE UPDATE*** We had a glitch awhile back with the first contest, which resulted in some of the votes being deleted. To make it fair, we suspended the contest until I had enough energy to re-create everything. In the mean time, a lot of you have done sig graphics, and quite a lot of them are pretty darn good. So the contest will be back on. I am in the process of acutally hunting down sponsers for some prizes. Loyalist Arms has offered a $25 gift certifate to a winner!
