I stayed there last year and it was minutes from the faire grounds and Cheap! It was something like $149.00 for 3 nights...course 4 of us girls bunked together and made it oh-so affordable. I'm still planning to go to Vegas ...only hell or business will keep me away! Oh and Matt, the link you posted looks like its for last years date....I have heard it was moved from the 1st weekend in Oct. to the 2nd weekend. I'll let you know more as I find it out. Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station and Fiesta are all pretty close to the action. GVR is the closest. Sunset Park (where the faire is held) is right next to the airport and a very short drive to the Strip. If anyone needs more info about the area, post here, or you can send a PM. I used to work as a cop there. Green Valley ranch is very expensive...similar to rates on the strip. We stayed at Fiesta when we went to AOC last year. Pretty reasonable (I think it was about $80 a night), and it's about a 10 or 15 minute drive away from the faire grounds. "There be the chest, inside be the gold, we took them all. I used to get lots of calls reference drunk wimmins, there. I shoulda gone when I was off-duty! hmmmm...come t' think of it, maybe that's where I should stay if I hit Vegas again. :) You will be flogged. GVR is the crown jewel of the Station Casino family. I've been there to eat and play several times. Beautiful. I think most of the Biggins stayed at the Silverton Hotel last year. It was really nice and their rates were the same or better than what I paid! I truely hope to be there, and I be plannin' for it. But a lot can happen in nine months (NOT that sort o "nine months" though), so I be crossin' me fingers and toes and hopin' everythin' works out. It would surely be a thrill ta take the tour with such awesome pirate wenches! I used to do SCA stuff a lot, so I kinda know the scenerio, Ren Fair wise. But piratin' be new. And, yes Diego, it has been a long time. And that Vegas trip was a sort of Kamakazi—jet in, jet out deal, as me husband was returning a Pepsi trailer to the plant there. We left Riverside at 1:30, got to Vegas at 5:30, watched the volcano erupt, saw the white tigers, ate at Excaliber, and took off. Got home at 3:30 in the morning. Blaze Posted January 30, 2006 Share Posted January 30, 2006 Will there be anything proffered (shirts, pins, etc.) one could wear proudly at all subsequent events. Can I be an OG Pyrate if'n I shew up? the garb be that of period no pockets, no zippers and certainly no velcro. the idea of a pin is alluring one for just the pikes of us... Those that actually make the run to do this accomplish this live this through by being this a pyrate too. Yes I'll start looking for what it might be a skull with the year under it mounted on a pin with a ribbon hanging under it maybe.... we shall see I know the good folks of Port Royal make some lovely period looking wooden buttons with sayings upon them. Perhaps we could persuade them to make special ones for this here Union? If not, I'm sure we could come up with something on our own along that line. We are, after all, a creative bunch of swabs! I just wanna know...... who is corridinating this from the Pyrate point of view.... is this going to be a gathering of Pyrates at a Renn. Faire, or is this going to be a gathering of Pyrates that are part of the Renn. Fair? Are we camping and a part of this... or are we just the "invading" pyrates.....
