Diego Santana de la Vega Posted December 21, 2005 Share Posted December 21, 2005 All of the following years it will be a reuinion but the innaugural international event will be in Las Vegas (because the airfaire is cheapest to get there cause the casinos offset the discounts ta get yer money in town) it's like three miles from the airport to the park where the faire is located so cab faire is cheap too!the other reason is we can camp on site! We should have a guild yard set up there and it will be as alot of you have read promoting reading and passing out lists of easy to read titles of books available for young readers. The Las Vegas city Renaissance Faire is called The Age of Chivalry the city plans and owns it they open friday from 9:am -3:30 pm for children in school to come. then they close and reopen to all patrons at 4:pm Friday and Saturday nights they are open till ten pm with a more than decent representation of acts on stage. The dates are October 6th, 7th and 8th 2006. If we all start planning now and saving we can all go there and party together and start a reunion for yearly general mayhem. Those that actually make the run to do this accomplish this live this through by being this a pyrate too. A highlands gathering. I highly recommend bringing musical instruments for sing alongs all day and into the night! Bar b que all day! damn! am I dreaming or is there about enough time to save ten dollars a week till then and have it made in the shade....... I may not have the rig built by then, but mayhap I will...in either case, sounds like fun, although a bit far from the sea fer my tastes. An' tha' begs a new question...would the reunion change venue year to year, basing itself in various established pyrate festivities? Sould we, in true pyratical tradition, vote on that provision? Or would that tend to be divisive, setting the east coast vs the west? Just rambling here, but these questions will come up in any "family" reunion talks...best to handle them up front. I of course will go anywhere there will be pyrates! To answer ye question, there is cannon fire they fire across from both sides of the lake. I can hook ye up with the group that arranges the cannons if ye are nice to me! Always a pleasure! I'm all for planning other events at other locations, but for a reunion for the pub we need to make it most acessible for the most amount of people. Just me humble opinion.... I did not go the "Hampton Blackbeards Festivale " because no one could send me info about it....... Los Vegas is in the middle of the desert.... no ships of such.... BUT CHEAP AIRFAIRE..... wot other Pyrate gathering can offer that..... This may be doable... a Pyrate Faire for all Pyrates... (yah right.... it's very far west.... but cheap airfires...can you think of a place that can offer better.....) Outta fairness.... can anyone think of a beter place... (OK a better place that offers such cheap airfair to get to....) I got a flight to Miami for PiP.. then took a Grewyhound down there..... flight (got it really vcheap because I got it early due to a huricanes hitting the place $400..... bus..(going cheap) $65) heck.. look it up.... we can all get to Lost Wages pretty dang cheaply.... I am in the contact mode presently to get the info on an encampmnent there> I could have posted this last week but the lady I know and have worked for is on vacation till next week and her supervisor addressed my e-mail to her saying it sounded well and good but the fact is she would make the call upon her return. We await! I can't immagine any cost. But we shall see???? So getting back to the guild Captain Redwake has made the suggestion to minimize the list in the other thread so I dumped a few I hope I didn't step on any toes in so doin....
