FairieTink
Forgot to ask, how hard is it to get a rapier and me other weapons through airport security? Don't want to end up in gaol for terrorism. Super easy, myself and my crew take all of our weapons with us when we fly. We use a hard sided golf bag to carry our stuff in, just for size. When we check in, we tell them we want them to inspect it cause it has to be locked. They are usually really cool about it. My friend uses a gun case for his. Sometimes it takes a few moments longer so be prepared for that but we've never had a hassle in all the times we've flown.

oderlesseye
there was an article of some unlucky pirates at the airport in the NQG rag. http://www.myspace.com/oderlesseyehttp://www.facebook....esseye?ref=nameHangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there! As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words: "My treasure to he who can understand." William Brand
Bustiers are a matter of course, so I did mean braziers. However, since an elevated firepit is a brazier of sorts, I'll consider it a yes. One more thing. YAY! I like fire.

Barbados Sam
Unfortunately, since it appears this faire has been rescheduled for the second weekend in October, I won't be able to make it. I was really looking forward to a reunion too. "There be the chest, inside be the gold, we took them all. Spent them and traded them. We frittered them away on drink and food and pleasurable company. The more we gave them away, the more we came to realize... the drink would not satisfy, food turned to ash in our mouths, and all the pleasurable company in the world could not slake our lust. We are cursed men....Compelled by greed we were, and now we are consumed by it."
Rumba Rue
Note: Please read, the dates have changed for the Las Vegas event. Check out Ms. Stormfeather's report. Yup this is going to be hard one, considering the Escondido faire is the following weekend.
hurricane
Sorry, too close to big doings in the Caribbean that time of the year. The Pyrates crewe will have to pass. Would have been fun and hey, it's Vegas. But the Caribbean love - that's where true pirates go. That's like the week before Pirate's Week in Grand Cayman by the way, for any of you who seek the turquoise waters of the sunny Carib... -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. hurricane
Oh, I do so know. Don't miss that part of living there. And I like the much shorter travel times to the Caribbean. Used to be an 11 hour trip from Seattle to Cayman. It's two hours from here. Same with Jamaica. And the Bahamas are 90 minutes. Love that action. Do they still have the drumming gatherings in the park downtown? Sorry to get back to ya so late, but I been away from the pub for weeks. I don't live in Medford, it's just the closest airport to Grants Pass. I'm not familier with the drumming in the park. Sorry. Sounds like fun, though. Should ya ever plan to visit Medford, let me know, and we can meet up. Always nice to meet members of the pub when ya has the chance. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... Mad Matt
Only thing I can think of about fire is to click on the feedback link and ask them. Just one rule: If you ask a question and get a response - post the question and answer here so we all know! You will be flogged. And God willing, come morning, you will be flogged some more. Mad Matt
I forgot to mention: Those that are going may want to look at www.stationcasinos.comwww.stationcasinos.com They are a local chain of hotel/casinos that have very nice accomodations for the same price, or often cheaper than that of the Strip casinos. Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station and Fiesta are all pretty close to the action. GVR is the closest. Sunset Park (where the faire is held) is right next to the airport and a very short drive to the Strip. If anyone needs more info about the area, post here, or you can send a PM. I used to work as a cop there. You will be flogged. And God willing, come morning, you will be flogged some more.
