Morgan Posted December 11, 2005 Share Posted December 11, 2005 Here's an old Marine Corps recipe... the first "recruits" would get "all they could drink" and awaken the next morning on a ship, musket in hand, with a hearty, "Welcome to the Marines!" Tun Tavern Cider- Put 10 cinnamon sticks, a tablespoon of allspice, and six cloves into a piece of cheesecloth, tie it up tight, and drop it into a pot of simmering apple cider (about a gallon)... let it simmer for 10-15 minutes. Ladle cider into a mug, drop in a shot of Caribbean rum (spiced Captain Morgan works well), throw a slice of orange on top, and sprinkle on some nutmeg... Great for taking the chill off after shoveling snow! Jim Beam 1 oz. Bacardi 151 rum 3 oz. Mount Gay rum 1 1/2 oz. Gosling’s rum 2 oz. Courvoisier V.S. Cognac To Prepare: 1. Blend all ingredients (except nutmeg) well. 2. Slowly, and gently layer the Bailey's in on the side of the glass, to almost full. Add a touch of grenadine down the middle and a touch of cherry brandy down the middle. Thar ye be, good sir! Mad Matt Posted December 22, 2005 Author Share Posted December 22, 2005 Another mint drink...Sorry Diego Mint Julep 4 fresh mint sprigs 2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey 1 tsp powdered sugar 2 tsp water Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw. It must be bourbon, nuttin' else! You will be flogged. Plunder Me Cherry Can be a shot or glass Either way I like mine with Captain Morgans spiced Rum Three or four cherries if tis a glass and some of the maraschino cherry juice mixed in..
