  1. There's also a scrooge yourself website: http://www.scroogeyourself.com/
  2. I saw Elizabeth-The Golden Age last night, and it was phenomenal! The acting, costumes, and music were superb! I would highly recommend it!
  3. Congratulations! It looks cool! I would have looked for a mobile home, but down here on the Gulf Coast I had to take into consideration the hurricane factor!
  4. No worries! Have a slug o' rum, kick back, and get better soon!
  5. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809834155/video/4367764
  6. There will be plenty of guest speakers that will appeal to the serious reenactors! The schedule is still being developed!
  7. Does anyone know where I can get some more of this fabric? I bought some of it from a vendor at Gulf Wars earlier this year, and I would love to get some more, but I don't know the name of the vendor! All I have left is this one scrap! It's a satiny material, and it's reversible!
  8. The PyrateCon planning crew was in New Orleans this past weekend fer an early Talk Like A Pirate Day celebration and intensive planning and meetings! It was a very productive weekend, capped off by a visit to the battlefield in Chalmette where Sea Wolf and I participated in cannon practice for the upcoming Battle of New Orleans reenactment in January. Other members of the planning committee took this video of one of the firings, in which I was in the vent pick position and Sea Wolf was in charge of the linstock. We have been members of the Louisiana Purchase Living History Society for several years, and the group has been an integral part of PyrateCon!
  9. Here's a link that will show ye what will be included on the DVD which will be released on December 4th: http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/liveaction/pirates3/
  10. Here's some more pics of the POTC room: http://allearsnet.com/dlr/wander/wdl14.htm
  11. $4.99 and a proof of purchase from certain boxes of Kellogg's cereal, Nutragrain bars, or Poptarts (mine was from Raisin Bran) will get the above mentioned booty!
  12. Finally got my Kellogg's POTC projection clock in the mail today! It's pretty cool, and they even give you the two AAA batteries to go in it. It's base is 3 inches by 3 inches, and it's 4 inches tall. When you press down on the skull, the time shines on the wall for about 10 seconds.
  13. My friend Sea Wolf and I were lucky enough to get a tour of the Steiner Shipyard where the Black Pearl was built, and Mr. Steiner allowed us to get some pretty closeup pics.
  14. Hmmm....I'm a vegetarian. But I do like soy bacon!
  15. Blackbead, personally I wouldn't want to associate any XXX film makers with Pyrate Con! Not a good idea, mate!
  16. As the convention is not scheduled until April 2008, the gag order concerning the show should no longer be an issue, as the show will have come to a conclusion way before that!
  17. Thank you, Silkie! Those of us who attended Pyrate Con 2007 had a wonderful time in New Orleans! And helping to bring New Orleans back to her former glory after Hurricane Katrina was one of our goals! We collected school supplies which were taken by a busload of pirates to NP Trist Middle School which had been almost totally destroyed by Katrina. We were able to present the supplies directly to the children, who were very appreciative. Sure, there are parts of the city that have been devastated, but the French Quarter is coming back very quickly. What New Orleans needs right now is not negativism, but help in rebuilding! We chose New Orleans as the site for Pyrate Con because we wanted to do our part to help her rebuild. Scaring off potential tourist dollars will not do this, Henry Morgan!
  18. Guess we're damned if we do, and damned if we don't! People have been emailing us asking us to get the site going, so we finally get a preliminary site up and they blast us for not having enough! There always have to be the first celebs and speakers on board now, don't there? This is just the start of the planning! And you are welcome to email us with any suggestions or contacts!
  19. The Pyrate Con 2008 website is now up! http://www.pyratecon.com/
  20. Some of my favorites are: The Libertine From Hell Don Juan DeMarco Sleepy Hollow
  21. I only got to watch the first 10 or 15 minutes before I had to head off to take care of some business. I did get to see their race to shore, and was amazed that these idiots couldn't even figure out how to row together on the same stroke! Jeez!!
  22. Ahoy, Stormfeather! Douglas County is the Roseburg area! Just thought I'd throw me two pence worth in! I miss me Portland Pirate mates since I moved to Alabama, so if anyone is thinkin' of joinin' them, I would highly recommend it!
  23. Our Director talked to the school principal, and they need all types of band instruments! You can always let me know what you have available and I can check, but I'm sure that any instrument would be used!
  24. Hurricane, our Director says that they need all types of band instruments, including trombones, clarinets, snare drums, and tubas. And if ye go to the Pyrate Con site now, ye can see pics of the devastation that was wrought upon the school by Katrina: http://www.pyratecon.com/hurricane.html
