Dutchman Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Well here is one for ya. Me and Pern getting ready for the Blackbeard Festival. This year I have ended up as the corrupt custom officer Richard Fitz Williams, the Hampton officer believed to be in with Tobias Knight, Gov. Eden from North Carolina's corrupt treasurer who were both in the know with Black Beard. Yes, thats a Capt. Sterling inspired hair do.
Capt. Sterling Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) HA! Cuisto Mako Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 (edited) Ohé de l'équipage! While making myself a nice 17th cFrench filibuster outfit, I decided to make myself as well a 17thc boucanier kit, perfect for summer weather. It is a work in progress, it will be even better with some moccasins that I commissioned. I'm gona also add some blood, dirt and patina. I'll try also to make a new hat, more similar to a tapabor. And the next step...my fusil boucanier! Edited May 17, 2011 by Cuisto Mako
Lucas Welsh Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 A new photo of a character the chops were grown for ?? "The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you shave his face in the mirror every morning."

Mission Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 A new photo of a character the chops were grown for ?? I think that's a really good look. Keep the mutton chops! But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Dutertre use the term " Caleçon" not breeches or brayet, so it really means underwear, mine on the pictures are actually 15th c linen braie, but base on my research the design would still fit.

Apparently, the design of men's underwear didn't change for centuries. There's a pair of Thomas Jefferson's in a museum (Dewitt Wallace was where I saw them last) which doesn't look much different from early period braes. I think those were his winter drawers, of a fine, soft wool iirc.
Mission Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Wait...so you're basically not dressed here? Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."
Cuisto Mako Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Wait...so you're basically not dressed here? According to well mater and social etiquette from 17th and 18th c...yes. No doubt, the outfit of a boucanier would be considered indecent at the time.

No doubt, the outfit of a boucanier would be considered indecent at the time. Hey, all it needs is an Izod Alligator embroidered on the hem. It's a neat and cool outfit though. I wonder if they could be coarser, baggier and a tad longer... like short slops? Jas. Hook "Born on an island, live on an island... the sea has always been in my blood." Jas.
