Paisley
Stynky Tudor Posted: Mar 14 2004, 04:04 PM Aye, there be a group of 5 us planning on tent camping at the moment. 3 spaces in a row with fire pit(s) would be the way to go! ( At least a fire pit on one of the sites) Do we want to commit on spaces 117, 119, 120? And for how many - what days? On the web site, they made it clear that each of us need to call in our won reservations, make deposits. Paisley, what are you doing with yer pug-dawg? i'll commit to the sound side 117, 118, 119-ish sound good. as it stands now i'll drive down friday night. stay fri and sat (14th & 15th). maybe stop at teach's hole on the way back. so we each have to call in our own spots? i can't reserve 3 sites???? : ( the pug dawg is staying here....with all the other creatures. capnwilliam Posted on Mar 14 2004, 03:57 PM After debating between Drake's Raid, and the Hampton BB Festival, it looks as though we'll be going to the Morehead BB Festival instead! Now, where's everyone staying? looks like salters path campground capn.....hope you'll join us! headcount for campers is: 8 hotelers: 2 (elaina & casabel) i'll bring the marshmellies and the blue skyy! (hey...i'm a girl...what do ya expect? ) "This calls for a particularly subtle blend of psychology & extereme violence." -Vivian, The Young Ones
capnwilliam
Paisley, Jan (the Pyrate Queene) says that she will bring the Hershey bars, and graham crackers, to go with your marshmellies, for some great S'mores! (And she had to help me spell it! I'm a good speller generally, but not much into melted sugary stuff on a stick! Gimme some fried fish, now, and some rum and me pipe, and I'm happy). We have a MODERN tent; do we need a period tent? We are very excited to be camping with the other pirates! Jan wants to know if she can be treated like a pirate queen; probably as a change of pace from the way I normally treat her! Capt. William "The fight's not over while there's a shot in the locker!" Zorg
Paisley, im sure they'll reserve the three for a group. If not, email or call me and we'll divvy em up. This is sounding like a serious encampment. Just as a note, I thinks all the tents are moderns. That be fine. :) Drop a kitten six feet, and she grins... Drop an elephant six feet, and ya gots yerself a mess ta clean up.... Sometimes bein' the biggest and most powerful is the LAST thing you wanna be..... Stynky Tudor
Aye, our tent be a modern one. . . Kmart special a few years back, never been taken out and actually used. As far the 5 in our boarding party, only two of them be proper adult types. And arrr, I don't really know what I'm talking about, I've only skimmed the site and not sure of the details. From what I gathered, someone does need to call ahead to claim a string of sites for the larger party. Then someone from each group needs to make-confirm there own reservation associated with the larger party. Or maybe I'm just assuming that's how it works. . . Anyway, does that be making sense? So how many (groups) of us are going? Paisley Zorg Captian William and the Pyrate Queen Stinky So that be 4 sites needed? Does there be anyone else?
capnwilliam
Aye, so so far it looks as though we will need 4 sites in a row. Fire pit(s), aye! we can cook out; and nothin' beats jawin' and drinkin' around the campfire. Pyrate Queen drinks very little, but I've been known to indulge in a little rum and a little beer from time to time. :) :) Hey, as time goes on we can decide on what we should each bring for our group, in the way of provisions. I suggest that everyone who has a pirate flag, bring it along. Make no doubts about who we are, and that we're claiming the area for our own. Anyone know how these campground folks feel about a mate having a sea service pistol tucked in his belt? (unloaded, of course). Capt. Paisley
THIS JUST IN FROM SALTERS PATH CAMPGROUND: You can call and make a reservation but unless you have everyone's MC or Visa and the experation date, all the reservations will be in your name. Not a problem for us but sometimes a hassle for the one camper who has made everyone's reservation. just emailed them back again and asked how they felt about weapons. i think silverhearted maggie might be joining us from atlanta. just bought henry every's flag...i'll bring it. modern tent for us too. i'm bringing some freeze dried camping food if anyone cares... mostly breakfast stuff...so far group name????? help us out william! Paisley
MORE IN FROM SALTER CAMPGROUND: oops---sorry ....hate to bug you again....i know you dont take reservations over the net...but are the sound sites still open? are group is doing all of this by threads on a website, so we are a little slow with our responses. thanks you are officially invited over for a tankard of rum for all your help! paisley Okay, I know this sounds a little ditzy, when were you coming? Sometime in May? We're inventorying new stuff for the store and setting the store & office up after having the entire place packed up for the winter. It's a little hectic. I think we probably have the sound sites open. Memorial Day is the only weekend where it is getting full. Sea service pistols are fine as long as they stay in the case and in the trunk. We do not allow firearms so if y'all will keep them out of hand and out of sight at all times I think we'll be okay. I'm not sure about how they feel about pistols on the streets especially after 9/11. I think steel will be okay. I know that when my ex was pirating, they only wore their pistols when they were attacking (although there was that one instance in the Oval Office during Tall Ships....). sounds like permission eh fellas???? current headcount campers: 10! wooohoo hotelers: 2--you know who you are! capnwilliam
Our crew's a-growin'! Any new hands ready to sign the artickles? Yeah, the campground manager got back with me about weapons, and at least he's tellin' everyone the same tale! "Keep guns and cold steel locked in yer land wagons." He thinks that edged weapons will probably be allowed in town, but isn't positive; and is less optimistic about flintlocks. I'm going to contact someone of authority in town - Police Chief or such -and try to get an official position statement from him/her. If we're told it's O.K., we can carry copies of the letter to show to the constables if they want to hassle us. Aye, we'll have Letters, all legal and proper-like! Capt.
