Col. Hawkyns
Avast ye mates! Ye have any flintlock pistols, blunderbuss, muskets, musketoons ye would like to sell? Or are looking for? Real or decorative? Be my pleasure if ye would post here. I am personally looking for a used real flintlock pistol for reenactments. Those new ones are a wee bit expensive for us pirates who have had little blunder or treasure coming in of late. Thanks to ya May the road, rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rain fall soft upon your fields. Until we meet again, May God hold you, In the hollow of his hand. Matty Bottles
Aye, but the problem is getting everyone to coordinate their budgets at the same time. "The time was when ships passing one another at sea backed their topsails and had a 'gam,' and on parting fired guns; but those good old days have gone. People have hardly time nowadays to speak even on the broad ocean, where news is news, and as for a salute of guns, they cannot afford the powder. There are no poetry-enshrined freighters on the sea now; it is a prosy life when we have no time to bid one another good morning." - Capt. Col. Hawkyns
Aye! That could be difficult. What be the price per piece for a bulk buy? I be willing if the price be right and enough join together. Col. Hawkyns May the road, rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. Col. Hawkyns
Aye! I love the Queen Annes. Good price too. Is that the kit or the full pistol? How many do ya have to purchase for a bulk price? Col. Hawkyns May the road, rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. How many do ya have to purchase for a bulk price?Col. Hawkyns That price is what's listed on the Loyalist Arms' website, and is their regular price not for bulk or discount. It's for the full pistol. Perhaps if we buy a bunch of stuff they'll cut that price down? I'll email them and see if they do bulk discounts. I'm a recent happy customer of theirs, and would love to give them more of my business. -Jennifer "Let them eat cake. No wait, kill 'em all instead, and plunder the cake for yourself. Black Deacon
Good looking piece. Say's he has 5. No close ups of makers marks so I can't trace them. I wouldn't fire it without it being x-rayed and tested. How much do you want to spend on a collector's piece? Some TLC to the wood and Iron it would look great. -------------- "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty well preserved piece without an even a kiss your hand, but to skid across the line broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, smelling of powder, shouting ARRRG!!" Hawkyns
Whhoo, that's a tough call. From the pics, it certainly seems old enough to be an original. It has seen some rough use, though. to start with, the trigger guard appears to have been broken and resoldered a bit roughly. The frizzen spring looks a bit rough and there appears to be corrosion on the dog and screw. Now, I'm not trying to rain on anybody's parade, here. This is my opinion, based on a look at a couple of pictures. I would not consider putting powder or ball in this and using it. On the other hand, there is some nice engraving on the brass. the pics of the barrel are not clear enough to see if it is decorated or not. With some work it would probably clean up nicely for a carry piece, assuming that all the screws are sound and the threading in the wood is not stripped. If I were seriously looking at this one, I would want to know if there are any makers marks or dates on the piece. That could affect the price by a whole lot Hawkyns Cannon add dignity to what otherwise would be merely an ugly brawl I do what I do for my own reasons. I do not require anyone to follow me. I do not require society's approval for my actions or beliefs. if I am to be judged, let me be judged in the pure light of history, not the harsh glare of modern trends. Deacon Frye
This is a running auction, and it really is a small world, after all, so I'll limit my observations to pointing out that the seller really commits himself to only one thing in his representation of the gun, which is: "I purchased these pistols I am putting on from a gentleman".
