  1. Ha HA. I be flyin' over that land on my way t' the lower Caribbean at the end o' next month on me honeymoon. Maybe I's can drop a bottle o' rum wit' a little parachute from me window. eh? That's a right perty cabana house, true enough. But I guess St. Lucia will 'ave to do fer now. Red, ye deserves another swig fer that one, mate! ::pours him another sangria:: Good Plunderin!
  2. ah-ha! A topic I know somethin' about! Long hair, in me own opinin' o'course, really depends on who it's on. Some men just look better in a certain haircut. Jus' like if he don't have a strong chin, he looks right nice with a beard. Try on a wig an' see if it works for ye! If the hair isn't taken care of, as said many times before, cut it to a length that looks good. Keep it trimmed to keep it even and full all the way through.. no one looks sharp with thin, scraggly ends! But ye be advised... a full tail on yer backside makes the wenches follow ye 'round. Myself, I appreciate a scruffy lookin' pirate. Nothin' like the dangerous type t' make ye heart flutter, aye? Harharharhar.. Nigel, ye saucy bastard! ::smack:: Good Plunderin!
  3. Seeing as the thread got started up agin', I thought I'd throw somethin' in the mix too. Just finished this 'un a few days ago... and fer the record, furries pay many an outrageous shilling fer art. Still... who can pass up usin' Jack an' Don Karnage, that infamous sky pirate, all in one pic, aye? Pirate Booty? Hope ye's likes it Good Plunderin', me lovelies!
  4. Another good place for bodices is Ravenswoodleather.com 'Tis where mine is from. I've also got a custom bodice in the works and a full leather dress. They do really fine quality work, they do. Good Plunderin! ~Dreamie~
  5. Ye can be sure I'm going t' be recordin' it tonight... I just might spot a few of me mates. (And I'll be sure t' bring me camcorder with me this weekend when our crew is on the good Lady fer reals) Good Plunderin!
  6. ...and there will be much drooling to be had. They sure know the way to a lass's heart!
  7. I've looked n' looked... but I can't seem to find a copy. hum. And yes.. that picture is quite....how you say, pointy? Maybe they're tryin' to make him less sexually attractive... I know I wouldn'a want to run me hands through that greezy mess. ***slathers eyeliner on 'im and runs away*** Yhar!
  8. Happy Belated Redd! Here's somethin' extra fer me tardiness ::leaves a large red pair o' lip prints on Redd's forehead:: yhar!
  9. Thank ye Hurricane and Nigel :) It's not but a mere annoyance, really. I never liked being around those of my own years.. I jus' never had too much in common wit 'em. Besides, the experienced salts are so much more appreciative of good things, aye?
  10. O.o ... That bloody ship is nearly orgasmic in nature.
  11. Capt. WE Roberts: Aye I must go to Goodwill at least every other week (I keep collecting ship paintings from there)...and antique stores in the boonies... you know the ones.... I cant wait until spring when the garage sales start up again. Personally, I like t' call it "Modern Day Pirating", since it almost feels like stealing! And I somehow have a strange affinity for import stores (Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, etc.), and get this odd vibe as if I'm in an old-time market about t' haggle on silks Good Plunderin!
  12. A few of ye have been requesting I post the Queen Anne Kit we bought a few months ago, so here it 'tis: Right side I sanded down all the rough factory edges, stained the wood various subtle hues to make it highlight certain areas and lines, and put a wood varnish on it. Left side The metal panel for the side was so roughly cut that I decided to put a scrolling rose etching on it to hide the scars. Back Bottom And finally we put metal bluing on all the brass, and sanded it off to give it more of an aged look. Anywho.. thar she be.
  13. Heh... all this fuss over a length o' material. I suggest going to a fabric store, finding some cloth ye like, and getting as much as ye need for the length ye want. Try to make sure that the fabric is the same on both sides. The cloth I use for a sash is reminiscent of a harsh dish cloth, with white and gold striping. I leave it rough on the edges to give it that worn an' torn look. Putting it under my belt makes the rapier hanger a lot more comfortable over a long length of time, as well as protecting my coat from belt wear... and I can tuck my pistol into it. If ye want t' go fancier, they also sell upholstery fringe on the cheap. Also, try going to a thrift store... they sell lady's scarfs for as little as 50 cents. My banda was all of 65 cents. Good Plunderin!
  14. GASP @.@ Ok.. can you all help me out with an ebay bid here? We MUST claim this pistol fer the pirate community! Antique Pistol on Ebay A warnin' to all those lookin' for this action... I'll blast ye at the knees fer puttin' a hand on it! (Me ebay is dreamiegarg) Must.... have....shiney... pistol... @.@ Good Plunderin!
  15. I'm in the market for a good flintlock.. me mate got a Queen Anne, but I have sights for somethin' a little more fancy (AND must fire). "Hmm, nice ... coat. " I concur.. that one better keep it close t' her person. If only it was black and mauve. Damn ye, I need t' get on the Royaliste one o' these days. :) Good Plunderin!
  16. Hurricane: Blast... it's one o' those over 21 venues, eh? And it's just a few minutes from 'ere too. ...A sad tale when a pirate's all decked out wit' no where t' go.
  17. Ahoy Hurricane, Aye we're all very pleased wit' the leathers.... one other thing we ordered special from someone recently (who shall remain nameless unless ye's ask in a PM) we were less than satisfied with. It was a black Pirate jerkin/vest thing, which we were hoping t' use as me mate's wedding suit. Too big, shoddy work and bad seams, riveted with a Bedazzler (Machine riveted me ARSE) and smelled t' high heaven of smoke. We sent it back, an' thinkin' of making it meself. An aye we're both itchin' to do some more piratin! It's nearly all I think about lately... hows I can improve our attire an' going to goodwill all the time for more big pirate jewelry. Thrift, vintage, goodwill and garage sales, the modern day piratin'. We'd be interested in any event ye's can throw. I love the Pirates o' the Coast's website by the way.. vera vera nice. Good Plunderin!
  18. I'd suggest buying one at a ren faire... or at least testing some out there. Its hard to know what weight your wrist can handle. Me and my dainty wrists required a rapier with a 3/4 hilt (compared to a nearly identical one that had a bit larger hilt but was too heavy). Good Plunderin!
  19. I agree with what ye's all said already.... comedies really dont get oscars. Depp is one of the best actors I've ever seen in the way that he really gets to know his characters and lives in their skin. It's really quite an amazing thing. There are many other actors who dont have nearly the range who have stacks o' those shiny little bald men. It ye ask me.. I say the real prestigious award is the People's choice awards. They're the ones who actually went to SEE the movies and paid these actor's salaries (especially those of us who go to see a good movie anywhere from 2 - 20 times!) As for Murray... I didn't have an opinion on him until I was watching the golden globes pre-show this year, and he insulted the interviewer's suit quality. That wasn't funny.. it was flat rude. Good Plunderin!
  20. Heh heh... among the seattle pirates thar be a frequent joke... "What is a pirate's favorite coffee place?" "Staaaaaaaaaaarbucks!" Their symbol is a mermaid (syrin?) after all. We went in and jostled around with some employees on Halloween. And we got those little peppermint sticks with Muppets on the ends.... an' used 'em for dueling. Now personally, I don't drink Coffee. Everyone looks at me like I's got a seedling growin' out of me head..... Just you wait until the country gets so obsessed with espresso and mocha latte's that they start puttin' drive through coffee huts in every large parking lot like they do here in Seattle. Good Plunderin!
  21. I just got an email from one o' me favorite new pirates. Recently she joined up with the crew of the Lady Washington, and says a handful of them are at the NewPort beach library using the internet. As for the Wawona, I pass by her every couple days on the way home. I've never been aboard her, but I can see the masts and some sort of large white canvas covering her. A real shame, that. And don't get me started on the Kalakala. Seattle (or at least the media) does seem to be interested in restoration and mysterious artifacts. All ye's got t' do is make it into a public controversy. I'll attend any benefit for a tall ship, Trapper. Do let me know when you have more info and/or the time draws closer. Good Plunderin'!
  22. Aye Hurricane! Jekyl the Hidesmith is a great leatherworker. Me Mate got all his leathers there. I'm going to have to take some pictures of him one of these days. Oo-la-la Good Plunderin'!
  23. "Aw, thanks Dreamie! You always know just what to do t' make a bloke feel at home. What a sweet lass. " Always happy t' be of service
  24. Aye horrah for Hot Topic! I got meself a "Kiss me I'm a pirate" shirt (Which does deliver, I might add). From a friend we also got these: Skull and Cross bones air freshiner Disneyland POTC ride antennae balls Skull and bones skull cap (Harley davidson store) Skull and bones "hair glove" (also from the harley store) Also I found recently from my days in high school: Skull n bones swim trunks and swim cap pirate mug pirate head/ ship gold class ring (I believe all these things can be specially ordered through custom sports team/ trophy stores) I also hear tell of a cookie or some type of chip called "Pirate Booty".
  25. Some very interesting tales ye's got here. If I were in the situation I'd only hope there would be someone to knock me down from any pedistal I'd get on. 'tis not a very comely place fer a lady (even a pirate) t' sit herself, aye? As for the writer's strike... I cross me pistol an' me sword fer it t' be finished in time. Fair Winds :)
