Aww, look at its little toes! Cute.

You know, if you weren't one of my twins, weren't married (and didn't want kids), you might be the perfect woman. (Jack, you lucky guy!)

When I was about 8-9, I had this recurring nightmare about a creature called a "cabbit" that was some sort of freakish mix of cat and rabbit. This thread reminded me of that dream, and I typed "cabbit" into google just for the heck of it. Guess I'm not the only one that has had a subconscious run-in with this beastie:

Mae, I don't wish to add fuel to your nightmares.. But I actually vaguely recall seeing that creature on a science show back in the early 90s... I think it actually exists.

I think it actually exists.

Uh...no.

It is impossible to actually produce cat-rabbit hybrids as they are genetically incompatible despite their similar number of chromosomes. Additionally, cats and rabbits have different habits. Female cats are induced to ovulate by the tomcat's barbed penis, which scratches the female's vagina as he withdraws. Male rabbits have smooth penises and are not able to cause a female cat to ovulate. Thus, even when copulation takes place, there would be no egg to fertilize.

 Could be that I saw the same show, and it had a devestating impact on my young psyche.

Awww... Now you ruined my fun... From the same source cited, while there is no REAL cabbits, there are occassional rare cats with genetic mutations that have rabbit like characteristics.. But from what I know this cabbit genetic mutation is tons more rare than even albinoism.

As for reproduction, two animals do not have to mate for a hybrid to come about, genetic splicing has come a very long way.... Muahahahaha...

Okay, so the cabbit is pretty darn near impopssible...

No...Porn stated in such terms is actually science! So we all learned something here today. (Something I would never in a million years have wanted to know.) Now we can all go about the business of talking about fluffy bunnies and continuing to speculate on what, exactly contributed to the make-up of Mae's psyche. Personally, I'm guessing that it has something to do with stoats,

spider skeletons,

bad TV show reruns,

and rutabagas.

Yep.

and rutabagas.

I got rutabaga skins for the clothes that I wear.

Rutabaga extract to wash my hair.

Rutabaga vapor instead of gas.

Rutabaga paper to wipe my ... nose.

Do the rutabaga boogie.

Come along with me.

With a fresh rutabaga pulled right off the tree.

Do the rutabaga boogie.

Do it all the time.

With a fresh rutabaga pulled right off the vine.

You can buy those. All the legs are jointed and the head can be fully posed. The little ones (about 6" long) are $10 and the big ones (about 12" or so) are about $25.

In fact, I used the head from one of them to make the undead monkey because the head with the miniature skeleton the rest of the monk was based on was too small.

True, but with modern technology we could gene splice them together.

"Cabbits, smooth and fluffy. A half cat half rabbit. Gentlemen, we can build them. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic cabbit. Poofy Poopy Pants will be that cabbit. Better than they were before. Better, stronger, faster."

Of course the only known countermeasure to a cabbit is a deasel, half dog, half weasel. Which of course can only be controlled by Manbearpig, half man, half bear, half pig.

Not to mention Jackelopes, which I won’t.

Why am I sharing my opinion? Because I am a special snowflake who has an opinion of such import that it must be shared and because people really care what I think!

Sorry Brig...but I cannot see the photo that you posted. What is of?

Strange...it is a lolrabbit announcing that it has evil plans. Can anyone else not see it?

This doesn't apply to me any more, but at the last place I worked photobucket and some of the other photo sharing systems were blocked, which prevented me from being able to even view linked photos from photobucket, on this forum and in other places. Maybe that is the case?
