Callenish, unless Harry has changed his mind since last year there will be only one fire.

We were allowed more than one fire, but we had to clear them before hand. We intended to make one in the Mercury camp, but as we kept gravitating to the other fire pit, a second seemed less important. Also, it was easier to maintain and regulate, so the limit of fires is probably a good idea.

I hate not being there this year.

I swear that he asked us not to have a second fire ...well then ...that settles that.

He was 'cautious' on the matter, but we made it easier by not having the second one, though if memory serves, Iron Jon and Paula had a fire as well.

OH! Yes! I have been operating under incorrect information! GAH! Any one who doesn't want to pitch in with the meals at "The Selkie's Hide". Forgive me ...you can play with your own fire! Edited by Silkie McDonough

I was speaking with William Brand about the ordinary @ PiP and he had a wonderful suggestion. In past years Captain Jim, William, others & myself have taken to using the dollar "gold" coins around town & with the suttlers.

On that same line of thinking I request that any exchange of legal tender that takes place in "The Selkie's Hide" be done in coin especially when there are visitors to the encampment. It will appear PC.

There won't be much of an exchange of coin but things like the pipe reeds will need to be purchased. I also encourage tips for the "wait staff' lol I plan on using a book as a prop to keep tabs for you all. You never know when you will have to pay settle your account.

Besides people get a kick out of it when pyrates pay in "gold".

Got an reply from Harry. He didn't think me daft for saying he wanted only one fire last year so that is good for me. His answer?

"Fires will be considered on a case by case basis."

So basically we will have to wait & see.

I'm thinking we need at least two even if they are in fairly close proximity.

Hrm. Well, whatever the decision is, I will help out wherever needed as I can, with whomever needs it. Since this will be my first PiP and my first reenacting experience, I am going to be peppering everyone with questions daily, so it's the least I can do to pitch in with cooking, serving or cleaning.

Also, I will mention again that I am planning on driving into town Thursday and I have an FJ Cruiser with a big cargo area. I plan on having some coolers back there, but I am more than happy to bring them into camps if needed, and I will be more than happy to make store runs for ice/bread/whatever else is needed.

Yar?

Post a Photo of yourself, dear, so we might know who to look for ~

She did post a photo of herself. See this thread. (Now, if you'd visit us more regularly, you'd know that. :D:lol: )

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Jessi, avoid this man. Avoid him at all costs. He'll say something about arresting you in the name of the King, blah, blah, blah...the number of wenches that I've had to warn about the Beach boys...

Oi, do I have a lot to catch up on.

If it will help, I can make enough minestrone soup that can be served as a meal for the entire camp. (Perhaps on Saturday before the parade?). No money needed but a head count would be good. I can make it ahead of time so all that would be needed are babysitters as it heats. Maybe a few loaves of bread to add and that could be a decent meal. pm me if interested so I'll know how much to make.

If you're gonna give me a headache, please bring me an aspirin!

We will be having Minestrone for dinner on Saturday. The question is how many want to partake. It is likely that after the parade we will all likely end up staying raiding the town so the soup is perfect.

Mistress Lilly Alexandra has kindly offered to both make the soup & foot the bill so there is no cost to you for this meal. I would however suggest that you tip the lass when she is serving!

PM me who will be joining us at "The Sealkies Hide" for that meal. if you haven't already told me you will be eating at the Hide already.

I have to serve it too

Well, I guess if I'm serving and receiving tips as well. Any and all money I receive will be donated to Diosa's Fill My Chest... Find a Cure.

My tip is that ye find someone else to serve... perhaps ye would like to borrow Bess?
