Help free Pirates of the Great Salt Lake!

Pirates of the Great Salt Lake is having some trouble getting distribution, and they need our help if we want them to come to a "theater near you." As such, they're asking all pirates to become producers (starting as low as $5.) All producers will get mentioned in onscreen credits, as well as get some nifty swag.

Check it out at www.freethepirates.com!

If they succeed in their goal, this will also result in a new world record for most producers ever tied to a single film

Yarrr!

I think the creators of this film have already talked to several distributors, large and small, and have decided going it alone is their best (if not easiest) option. It's mentioned briefly in the FAQ.

But you can always contact them if you like.

there's an indie film festival here that loves quirky movies..

Try the UNI college film festival from Cedar Falls Ia.

Elijah Wood was from there, and Nancy Price who wrote Sleeping with the Enemy, and Annbeth Gish.

As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

Ahoy!

Thank you for joining the Free the Pirates! fan club for Pirates of the Great Salt Lake.

This is the name we will credit you with in our film: Oderlesseye.

If you would like to use a different name, please contact us. But please read the credit guidelines on the website before doing so.

As an Assistant Fan Club Producer you will receive the following benefits:

• Credit in the film. We will have your name on line within a week. Please check the credit list to verify proper spelling.

• We will mail you an official certificate stating your credit in the film within 4 to 6 weeks.

• You will also be among the first to be invited to any free screenings we host in your area. If you want us to come and do a free screening of Pirates of the Great Salt Lake in your town, invite your friends to join the club. The more fan club producers we have in an area, the more likely we will be able to come visit! We are already in the process of scheduling our first screening in Atlanta for the end of March.

• Also, when your friends join based on your referral, you will be qualified to win a trip to Salt Lake City to see the Salt Lake premiere of Pirates! More info is under the contest section on the site.

If you were referred by a friend, and didn't include their name or email when you donated, please reply and send us that information now.

Thank you for your help and support. Together we will break world records and Free the Pirates!
