THis is a personal item., therefore you need to really think about your kit as a whole. Some throw alot of differant items together and look great ! Others look tattered and old,m and still others look new. Most of my gear looks pretty new., not new thrown into a mud mixer which gives the authentic look., lots of browns., therefore you gota think about your over all desire. My self I have 3 coats 2 black and one Blue velvet frock., with this in mind,., I thought ablout most of my metals. Most are gold (Brass) for example a sea service pistol has brass accents., therefor I included brass on my swords. Back to the baldric.,I chose a DARK brown almost black leather with a brass buckle and hardware., decorated with alot of brass rivetts in a diamond pattern. to attach the scabbard there is 5 mini belts with brass buckles. If most of your jewelry and other pieces are silver., some use cloth., and have several colors depending on the outfit? I guess I wasnt much help., but choose wisely.
