  1. If, by Chicago, ye mean Denver, then count me in, mate!!! ...errr, rats... I suppose I'll have t' bow out of this one. However, I would love to pillage with the Monkey. Hey Michael, that sounds like a good title for a song, yes?
  2. My sympathies are with ya, mate.

    1. Pearl

      Pearl

      Aye be me.

  3. AVAST, ye scoundrels and currs!!! It is high tide and high time that ol' Nigel be tossin' his hat (pretty though it may be) back into the ring!!!! Yes, the one-time crewe member of the Pyrates of the Coast, "Classic Collector's 21st Century Edition" will be hopping down off the Hogback and into the warm waters o' the Carribe (...and bring me coconuts full of rum drinks with little jolly rogers instead of umbrellys, if ye please, lass!!!) It looks like oh-TEN will be a reunion year, what with Hurricane, Lighthouse, and myself - and I hear dirty little rumors of the possibility of Animal and other "Classic Collector's Edition" members reuniting at PiP oh-TEN. (C'mon, Sloe Gin - ya know ya wanna!!!) So make fast the lines, no starch in the sheets (it chafes me bum) and fill the hold with cups o' gold and barrels full of rum!!! I'm lookin' forward to drinkin' a toast to May babies, and sharin' a round with me long time mates and newfound friends!!! -Nigel aka Sir Freelancealot aka Ace of Cads aka Jackpot P.S. I saw a Margaritaville Margarita Mix commercial today. How prophetic! I'm in a Key West state o' mind, mateys!!!!
  4. Firefly class? Nice choice. But don't ride in anything with a Capissen 38 engine, they fall right out of the sky
  5. Okee dokee. Here are a couple pix from the museum: The Auburn: And the Buick: The front end is EXACTLY like mine. I remember the first weekend I had it, I set about polishing the grille. It took the whole weekend! There were dozens of beautiful, rare automobiles. The whole trip was a blast! I have many more pix, larger ones too, which I posted to my personal blog, rather than tying up this thread. Anyone who is interested, go to: http://mikeyzblawg.blogspot.com/2009/10/cussler-museum.html
  6. Aye, mate - ye be a man after me own heart (or wallet, I wager...) I have always been a fan of antique automobiles. My dad's friend collected antique Lincolns, and introduced me to the guy who sold me my first car - a 1958 Buick Special, which I bought at a5 years old, restored, and kept for over 20 years. When i moved to Seattle, I sold it to a collector in Sweden. As far back as I can remember, my all-time dream car was a late-30's Auburn Boattail Speedster. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting the Clive Cussler Museum in Denver, and saw some excellent examples of the Auburns there. I'll see if I can dig up some photos. Some of the autos were strange - Cussler has this uncanny knack for painting antique cars in bizarre colors.
  7. Trapper lives in Seattle, I sent her an email in case she's interested. Sounds like fun!
  8. Alas, me hearties, it is with a heavy heart that I answer the roll call... It pains me to say that I shall not be able to make this year's PiP. I would so love to spend more quality pirating time with my *ahem* "quality" pirate friends, but the situation won't allow it this year. I shall keep in touch with Hurricane and the crewe, and keep my eye on the horizon. I'll find a way to get down to FLA for some pillaging and drinking of rum. If any of you rascals happen to be going through Colorado, don't hesitate to drop me a PM, it would be great to get together! I've been landlocked for too long. Until then, keep a weather eye... Ye've not heard the last of Nigel!!!
  9. Hey Dutch, Grace and I will be happy to tie him on the roof rack... oh wait, we have a cargo carrier, he can ride in comfort... might be a bit hot, but if it rains, he'll stay nice and dry.... I can see Animal now, riding on top of the heap like Granny Clampitt.... LOL Good luck wit' that one, mates...
  10. Animal, mate, I hear ya loud and clear. Moving to CO meant giving up a LOT in regards to piratin' (me favorite pasttime...) I fear I shall not be able to make this year's PiP, and more's the pity. I would so love to see all my pirate friends, and that definitely includes you and Doc. But I understand where you are coming from. I hope that the change does ya both good, my friend. We'll keep after it, and with luck, we'll be tipping a pint together at an event in the not-too-distant future. Until then, keep sending smoke signals now and again. Fair winds and full sails, my friend- Nigel
  11. Thanks for the cutting diagram! An excellent way to make the most out of the cards stock. I set up all my business cards on a similar template. Does anyone laminate their cards? ("oh yes, that's very piratey...")
  12. Oi! With a gun like that, anything is a close-range shot. LOL
  13. Aye mate, I' be interested in this little venture o' yor'n. I'll send you a message.
  14. Aye, the Captain's a right good washtub player. At least the washtub is good fer sumthin' on this crewe.
  15. Thanks, mate. Keep me posted. I'll check in from time to time to see how it's going.
  16. Aye, what a terrible fate befell ya, mate. Musta taken all yer wherewithal to get out unscathed - or only slightly scathed. what the heck, we all needs a little scathing from time to time. Good to see ye survived. Looks like a fun time was had by all.
  17. This sounds like fun to me. Let me know when the next one is starting, I'd like to join. In the meantime, perhaps there is one or two folks who would like to do a mini-version, and trade small sketchbooks for a month?
  18. I was fortunate to read the copy of 'Memoirs of a Buccaneer' thanks to Hurricane. Wonderful stuff. Highly recommend it!
  19. Methinks I still have remnants of pink Sharpie on my leg. And feet. Never fall asleep twixt the Pink Pyrate and her Sharpie... It appears our simultaneous returns to the pub are coincidental... although coincidence is rarely coincidence after all. ooOOooo....
  20. As the former "Official Bodice Fitter" for the Pyrates of the Coast, I can attest to the need for diplomacy and respect when it comes to bodices and the handling thereof. * ahem *
  21. we could hook you up with a caricture of yerself in all yer piratey glory, like the one I did of Barbossa & Jack. I can make it to whatever dimensions ye need. email me if ye'd like one. -Nigel
