  4. There's a nice little museum at the temple mound over in Ft. Walton (about 40 miles down the coast) which has some Bowles materials (he was actually one of my relatives) including a letter of Marque issued by his State of Muscogee. Bowles is a latter day pirate, early 1800s, but sort of a james bondish character who came within a hair's breadth of changing north american history. There is reputedly a sizable cache of spanish gold scuttled in his ship "Blackhawk" somewhere in the bayous there. Z :)

  10. One of the things I like about loyalist, even though they do handle indian work, is they're picky, and they won't handle a piece unless they can also supply replacement parts for same. I've dealt with em on two pieces now, and have been really impressed by the service. :)

  15. Have always avoided mal de mare, but I've a friend who swares by ginger tea, right before taking deck. There's something about heavin back and forth in a tight, stuffy cabin that can get to the best of us tho.

  18. Y didn't say, lad, are ya looking for a firing reproduction or no? Most of the sources that sell live firelocks seem to have been havin trouble finding decent wheelocks lately. I suspects most of this stuff is coming out of India and Pakistan, and a lot of the vendors have suspended sellin em because apparently the stuff they're getting has been....well....crap, ....or unpredictable at best. some good sources for the live locks are: The Rifle Shop and Loyalist Arms and Repair
