Did I see you pouring your ingots on bare concrete?

Ive seen alot of the guns online and frome what I've noticed regarding blunderbusses if you have one and there is a flint on it thats wonderful other than that there isnt really any care about the era. Personally what I would like to find is an example of a portugese/spanish blunderbuss circa late 1600's most likely with a miquelet lock. My library is very limited by nessisity as I live aboard and don't have space for that many books.

I have a lage lock that is very out of place on a pistol. I would like to take this lock and build a blunderbuss for it. I have been looking and found a variety of blunderbusses but it would be a great help to me if I could get some help as to dates and when styles changed.

Very nice work, I know how to tie all those knots (yes the star knots as well) I started knot tying in 5th grade and you are doing a beautiful job. I know how much work that is.

Ahh if only you could fail to see her as well -
I just sold a cannon on ebay much to my disgust (20 watchers and 2 bids the first within 15 min of listing) as it sold for less than half its value. I collected money with paypal, this will be the last time as paypal charged me a nice amount. I will leave it as an option to the buyer but they will have to pay the fee next time.

When I acquired my wife in the grand year of 1710 things were beautiful there well beautiful if you like breasts everywhere

No I am not making the carriages, the Viceroy is and after seeing his carriage work it is beautiful. Barrel alone with the steel/aluminum/bronze is 8,000
-
Perhaps if you post some pictures there are those of us that can ID it. These are a pair of Cannons I was helping the Viceroy make a while back. These particular 2 are nonfiring replicas cast hollow in bronze (for cost and weight considerations). We are currently working on another pair that will be functional, also cast out of hollow bronze but with a steel gun barrel placed inside then the space will be filled with aluminum to try to keep cost and weight down. The guns are 5 and a half feet long and are 6 pounders.

82 clear skies a slight breeze here with a sea temp of about 79-81
-
Not right now, everybody is out of town and I don't have access to the shop. For the ultimate cannon though if price was not an issue . . . 6 pounder 5.5 feet
-
Does that mean we have room for a couple boatloads of pistols?
-
Actually looking at this I think we do not want it, too much modification required to fit an adequate number of cannon
-
Either way you aren't going to be carrying charges around in it (from a safety standpoint) even when firing. To keep up with the pace of things you are going to want to be able to quickly pick up a single charge carry it over and load your gun. Not place itinto a bag walk a couple feet and then pull it out of the bag.

Welcome Mom, nice to see you here finally now you are just going to have to do alot of reading

Its not too difficult to mock up a larger fake barrel out of PVC/Foam, Fiberglass or cement. The problem comes with everything else that you want for it. All of that stuff for a gun that size is way out of your budget if you want it to look good
-
Unfortunatly everything I am making is fully functional. There are some big fiberglass cannons up the street from me but they are a fair bit bigger than what you are looking for and do not have a carriage or any implements. Last I checked it was $995 for just the barrel

Well there is a small one made to launch golf balls on ebay right now . . . http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=200336350476

There is a silk produced in Thailand that is unique to say the least. If you come across much of what is still made by hand up country you will find it to be more comparable to canvas than a silk very intestering, the colors can be almost Iridescent (and they have been making it like that for hundreds of years). I was thinking of using some and making some clothes if not for myself then at least for my wife who is Thai.

A cannon with a core is cast using a piece of hard sand where the bore would be. Once cast the sand is broken out leaving a cannon with a bore already drilled. I do not know if yours was cast with a core or not. If the core is not held prefectly in the center you will end up with a bore that has a much thinner wall thickness on one side of the barrel and a much thicker thickness on the other. If your barrel has not been proofed I suggest you find somebody and proof it before firing it.

Cotton-Linen-Hemp, Blues, Browns, and white seems to be all you hear . . . Now feel free to correct me if Im wrong but wouldn't silk of also been an option? Didn't pirates often capture vessels that would of been carrying goods like textiles? Perhaps a redcoat that had the sleves torn off or resewed to fit would be equally fine? I keep imanging that most of what pirates wore would of been a collection of whatever they could get their hands on and whatever fit.

Any chance on getting a collection of pictures with rough dates? I found a tip when I was in Laos in a little antique store and figure it would be cool to put it on something.

North of Key Largo at Manatee Bay, I am sure the bottom needs alot of work. There is no engine/outboard, other than that I don't know. I have no place to put it other than at anchor and what would I do with it since I already have a sailboat that is larger but small enough to comfortably day sail
