  1. "Hard to believe, isn't it, that beneath this wrinkled well-fed exterior there lies a dangerous killing machine with a fetish for . . ." There if you don't get this Ill post another quote tomorrow that will give it away if you have ever seen the movie. This one is dedicated to the Viceroy
  2. Oh goody, I have the next movie picked out but will wait to check the wording so im sure to get it right and will post tomorrow morning
  3. My list is nothing more than a very rough idea as my wife is not here yet and we haven't started putting anything together for her. Roughly my idea consists of a sea chest (not built yet) which will hold my weapons in the bottom (not the blunderbuss though) and a couple pairs of pants and shirts in the top. It will also house my scarves, belts, and whatever else im not needing to wear at that time. I will also have my powder chest which is a nice locked and lined wood chest. There are a couple small cannon as well as a box for charges (empty until rolled and ready for firing). I have my "bag" which holds all my odds and ends from money to drinking mug to cleaning supplies. The tent is still not constructed yet and may be nothing more than a tarp depending on what time allows. I would like to have a wedge tent large enough to have an air mattress inside for sleeping on hidden under some blankets. I dont worry much about cold weather clothes as PiP really is about the only event I go to and am planning on going by boat leaving her anchored while I am at the fort.
  4. Sounds like "Stripes" is my first guess
  5. Well today I managed to almost finish the cutting, grinding, and sanding of the walnut stock for the new doglock pistol. The barrel and lock now fit nicely and the trigger guard is formed in wax so one more casting and she should be ready to complete.
  6. Just a thought wrap the tin mug in a few wraps of leather should work nicely for insulation and is PC. This should be my first event where I am putting together my kit so I'm greatful but can't add my own yet.
  7. I found it hard to answer many of the questions as there were few responses that fit. 8 hours of sleep, wow thats alot I'm usually used to 3-5 when sailing often less. Longest trip well out of sight of land for weeks . . ., break in my routine would be difficult since I don't have a routine except when sailing. Anyways it did come up that I have what it takes.
  8. Ditto, but Im going to make my complete guess "The Gods Must be Crazy"
  9. Going by what you say everything sounds like a great deal, but my biggest objection is the same as everybody else and please dont take offense. Entering a forum with something for sale requesting money up front is very suspicions in the world we live in today. I am sure there are people out there very interested in ordering from you based on your prices but are waiting for others to make the initial plunge and report back how things went. One question I did have though is that if this is a bulk order wouldn't it be shipped in bulk to you? I can understand $75 shipping a musket from Aisa to here, however I cant see $750 shipping if you ordered 10. I realize you need to make your money and if thats how your doing it thats fine, of course if each gun is being shipped individually then why the need for a bulk order?
  10. Well you were both right, unscrewing the number and hiding it behind the door as well as Sin city
  11. I personally love it when in the book (yes I read the books) Bond hides the check in the room and nobody can find it no matter how many times they tear aparet the room. If you know where he hid the check you can pick the next movie or you can try your hand at this modern movies quote. . . "His Keys say the Padre drove a Mercedes. Or at least what thy're passing off as a Mercedes these days Modern cars- They all look like electric shavers"
  12. I kew it sounded familiar, Casino Royale
  13. Welcome, some mighty fine pictures on your sight. My french be a bit lacking but I can make out enough to get me into trouble.
  14. This was at the Royal Shipyard there in Barcelona, it was special "wing" they had setup and was not permanant.
  15. When I was in Spain at a museum they had a special section focusing on Pirates. What made it intestering was that they were focused entirely on the Med and didn't even mention what we refer to as the GAoP.
  16. Well I do have a bottom that does need scraping . . . .
  17. Welcome aboard, any pictures of what you make?
  18. After visiting Thailand I was most confused, the Thai people love sugar and sweets, even added to their soups. However for alcohol they make a rice whiskey . . . Now for the real kicker, they grow sugar cane everywhere. So here are a people that love sweets but havent figured out to make sugar cane into rum . . .
  19. Hmm I wonder the effect fresh water rain has on fish, hmmm maybe I can get some money for a study
  20. What diameter is the hole for the fuse? That should tell you if it is meant for a cap or fuse. When you test fire it I would bury it in sand or at least remove the barrel and drop some sand bags on top of it.
  21. Ill see what I can come up with here, no promises though.
  22. It would be nice to be able to mark all topics read for the entire forum as we could before from recent posts
  23. Bore size is the hole down the barrel Breech size will be the diameter where the bore terminates Look for tell tale signs at the truniuns, if it all appears to be 1 piece then most likely a casting, if the truniuns appear to be added on most likely machined Machined look at how to tell if its a casting.
  24. Looks good, but I can't imangine it holding in place with the weight of real pistols unless Im not seeing something.
