Well I happen to know the gal that wrote the book very well. Gail Selinger is a walking history book. Yes the way the book is written is somewhat not very well, due to a lot of missing information that can be found elsewhere. The book is simply a guide to what's what and who's who.

It's certainly not a 'made-up' story. It's been in all the papers around here.

That ship is not small. It's docked here in San Diego. I've been on it and while it can't hold a candle to the Star of India docked next door, it's still a large vessel.

A stainless steel jeep? Hmmmm, well the next time the owners work with fish/garlic all they have to do is wipe their hands on the vehicle to make the smell go away. BTW- it's been proven that for some reason stainless steel when rubbed in one's hands after handling fish, garlic or other smelly foods, removes the smell.

Aye, with Jacky Tar. Been wonderful, warm temps, have window and patio door open all night long, heck even had to turn on the fans yesterday at the 83 degree reading. So when the rest of you get tired of shoveling snow, just come to S. Calif. for the winter.

I've certainly never heard of the egg bit before....hmmm you might get a soft boiled egg out it, covered in coffee grounds...I'm sure some country probably would eat them thinking it's some kind of aphrodisiac.
