I've never ever had a problem with metal grommets, but then I take the time to do a buttonhole stitch around them with embroidery thread to cover them over.

I sent a message to Booty about it. There have been some things going on recently (way too much spam) that have forced the Admins. to think about some changes.....so it's possible the Gallery may be involved. Hang in there, hopefully it will all be worked out.

First weekend of Ojai looks like it will be cool and possibly even wet - rain! That has never happened for the Sept. event! I suggest a 1:00 PM gathering for the benefit of Ace doing stage shows.

The palm frond hat was fine, but it won't hold up over lots of wear, as pieces tend to come off....mostly it was the glass fish I attached to the side that kept wacking me in the face was the big problem.... I bought my leather bag at Moonstruck (yes I'm sure they will be at Ojai) and added the heart concho. What I like about that particular pouch is it has inside flaps that keep stuff from falling out. I have another one similar, bigger, but without the flaps with a heart concho that I think I may sell....

But what weekend? Some are coming only the first or the second so it's going to be difficult to gather all. I'm there both weekends.

Ok, I'm in the market for new rope sandals. I know there was a thread way back when, but can anyone give me some links to find them online? Thank you, Rumba

Out of the mouths of babes: LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT THE OCEAN A number of primary schools were doing a project on "The Sea." Children were asked to draw pictures or write about their experiences. Teachers got together to compare the results and put together some of the 'better' ones. Here are some of the descriptions of "ocean life." 1. This is a picture of an octopus. It has eight testicles. (Kelly age 6) 2. Some fish are dangerous. Jellyfish can sting. Electric eels can give you a shock. They have to live in caves under the sea where I think they have to plug themselves in to chargers. (Christopher age 7) Oysters' balls are called pearls! (James age 6) 4. If you are surrounded by sea you are an Island. If you don't have sea all around you, you are incontinent. ( Wayne age 7) 5. I think sharks are ugly and mean, and have big teeth, just like Emily Richardson. She's not my friend no more. (Kylie age 6) 6. A dolphin breathes through an asshole on the top of its head. (Billy age 8) 7. My uncle goes out in his boat with pot, and comes back with crabs. (Millie age 7) 8. When ships had sails, they used to use the trade winds to cross the ocean. Sometimes, when the wind didn't blow, the sailors would whistle to make the wind come. My brother said they would be better off eating beans. (William age 7) 9. I like mermaids. They are beautiful, and I like their shiny tails. How do mermaids get pregnant? (Helen age 7) 10. When you go swimming in the sea, it is very cold, and it makes my willy small. (Kevin age 6)

You can see my pictures at: Oceanside Harbor Days Not only is Pirates of Treasure Cove all over Channel 9 news yesterday, your's truly got in with Linda Torgenson and Gail Selinger with Capt. Jack Sparrow on the intro to the event on TV, but Pirates of Treasure Cove got real good air time on showing the books we put our, our banners, and our members! It doesn't get any better than that! In fact all day long I was apparently the only other pirate recognized besides Jack Sparrow because I had on that silly Hawaiian palm frond made hat. Everywhere I went people said to me,"Hey I/we saw you on TV!" I'M FAMOUS!!!! I didn't take this picture, but I wanted to post it so you could all see our camp.

Well for everyone who expects me to dress to the hilt, here's a surprise for you!

Hmmmm....clueless on that, but I'll try and find out for you.

I can hardly wait to be there and meet everybody, including you Blackfox. There's going to be scooter races between me and a great lady who goes by the board name of appylady on KTTC site. I understand that some gals are actually going to make pirate cheerleader outfits for it! Oh, way too much fun....I sooooooooo want it!
