  1. It basically goes into the Buccaneers that were in different areas, such as Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Martin, Virgin Islands, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Antigua, Dominica, Martinique, Santa Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, Trinidad - as read right from the contents page. I admit it can be a rather unintrigueing book, but it is an interesting read. There's a lot of history I haven't read elsewhere and with so few books around about Buccaneers, I think it is worth having.
  2. If you can find it, "Crossroads of the Buccaneers", by H.DeLeeuw, is pretty decent. The book is out of print, but I do have the book, I got at a convention several years ago.
  3. Suggestion: Forget ordering the DVD via Internet, you'll end up paying more than it's worth due to shipping charges - just wait and buy it at your favorite store which is only a few days away.
  4. O ring belts were used in an earlier era. In GoP, you'll find buckle type correct. The width of the belt can vary as much as the length, it just depends on what you are using it for. Are you wearing it around your waist or are you going to use it as a baldric? Colors tend to be black or brown, but even a woven belt can be colorful, it just depends on how you like color choices.
  5. I've read similar things in numerous books, but I think in reality, this was not the case for every pirate ship. With pirates from other countries like the Dutch, French, and even Asian pirates, there really is no account of how actions were taken. We basically only have the English version, which even that is suspect.
  6. Patrick, I think you should send your work to Pyrate's Way magazine, they are great and I love your drawings.
  7. I have never seen a drum like that with the back cut away for holding or whatever. Nice drum.
  8. Yes Tiger Lee took the picture. I have another one on order from him, but haven't received it yet....hmmm better send him another email.... BTW- The button on my right side of my bodice says: Men, not just for breakfast anymore. Yes, I love that picture...it says so much about me....REBEL!!!!
  9. Some of the caps look knitted, others look like fez's in a way, but I could see no leather....
  10. Don't need to do that myself.....ahem....cough...cough.....I have a copy already...cough....cough.....
  11. Love your drawings Patrick! Cute comic.
  12. Here's the latest picture of me taken back in Sept. at the Ojai Pirate Faire. I tried to make it smaller, but failed.
  13. (Ostara? What does that mean? I've looked in 4 dictionaries, can't find it) month
  14. Sisters Mary Catherine, Maria Theresa, Katherine Marie , Rose Frances & Mary Kathleen left the Convent on a trip to St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City and were sight-seeing on a Tuesday in July. It was hot and humid in town and their traditional garb was making them so uncomfortable, they decided to stop in at Patty McGuire's Pub for a cold soft drink. Patty had recently added special legs to her barstools, which were the talk of the fashionable eastside neighborhood. All 5 Nuns sat up at the bar and were enjoying their Cokes when Monsignor Riley and Father McGinty entered the bar through the front door. They, too, came for a cold drink and were shocked and almost fainted at what they saw. (scroll down) * * * * * * * * * *
  15. I found the best tasting Vanilla coffee....at Smart and Final. You can get it ground up already or just the beans. I got the beans and ground them myself. I have a really lousy bean crusher, anyone know of a better one to buy that isn't horribly expensive?
  16. Contraception Con? Why does this bring visions of 'Immaculate Conception' to my mind?
  17. Wish we could come, but we're saving our money for Pyrate Con and for purchasing some place to live next year.
  18. Thank you for a further explanation. I wish I could see your shows, they sound wonderful and funny. Dang, I wish I had a better writing mind, I would love to come up with a kid's story that Pirates of Treasure Cove could do. But at the moment I'm thinking that taking a kid's book and just having people mime out the actions.
