Here is the group shot that I plundered from Pearl's facebook. I will start processing my pics tom and start posting them. 4. I am heading to Fort Zachary Taylor this friday and I needed something to wear on my side. I wanted to make something subtle and sweet. I left the edge blunt on this for the time being. If I still have this sword when I return, I plan to grind more off the edge making it lighter and adding a sharp edge to it. Custom hanger with 24.25" blade and is 29 " Overall. Blade is satin polished with double hand ground fullers, stop edge and file worked spine. The blade is .175" thick at the hilt and distally tapers to .1" just before the tip and .08" at the tip The blade is 1.125" wide at the hilt and .75" before the curve of the tip. The hilt is medium carbon alloy and is heat treated for toughness The spiral fluted handle is made of whitetail antler with fluted steel cap. The overall weight of this sword is 1.37 LBS or 625 grams The edge is left blunt for stage combat use and the POB is 4" from the hilt. More pics can be seen here http://imakeswords.c...enchhanger2.htm Thanks for looking. For Sale..
  5. Here is a look at two prototypes of a new fencing line. We have made fencing swords for awhile, but are going full tilt in this direction for 2012. We have a big batch of these in the works and they are ready to be ordered now with a delivery date of 7-10 days from the order. http://imakeswords.com/fencing.htm So far we have already made a few design changes to this set. their pommel will be swaped out for a scaled down version. The knucklebow has also been beefed up. This set is meant to be a entry level pair. We will of course continue making our full hilted rapiers, but wanted to be able to offer a simple set that still functions well and looks pretty good. You can upgrade these swords with any of our upgrade options. Faceted pommels, fancier grips etc... Please feel free to inquire about special bulk order discounts as we are willing to make the prices better the more you buy. These come standard with epee blades but can be swaped out for a schalger blade for an additional fee. I should also say that the center section of the rapier can be swaped out for any of our styles. This one pictured is our "double down" center section. The standard wood is hickory with a light oil. Thanks for looking!
  6. I know I promised a full tutorial on this piece and I will write one up and get it on the site, but for now, here she is. This fall I finished this hanger sword for a re-enactor and I just got it uploaded to our site and thought that I would share it with you all. It features a custom shaped wide sharp 27" blade with distal taper. double hand ground fullers(Swatton style). A short false edge at the tip. A custom shaped clamshell with a forged thumb ring. Spiral fluted cocobolo handle. A wrought iron end cap that was ground to shape. A forged Iron knucklebow that was left crusty(forge scale) by request of the customer. More pics and info here : http://imakeswords.com/hanger.htm Here are a few WIP shots I have a ton more in progress photos on our facebook here http://www.facebook....81225150&type=3 Thanks for looking. Comments always welcome!
  7. Drop John@baltimoreknife.com a line and let him know what blade length you have and what style of hanging. Set up for a frog or a belt loop.
  8. We are now offering some militia grade scabbards and some suspension options all made in house by our own John Mitchell. So far we are only doing stitched up leather scabbards. We have dozens in stock, but we also offer a fast 3-4 day turn around on any custom orders. There are many different hanging options and stitch options. Just email John@baltimoreknife.com and he will answer any questions and go over all of the options. Here is a small sample: For more pictures and examples please see : http://imakeswords.c...itialeather.htm Thanks, Matt
