  1. Corn, a whole box of corn …

(Good for the making of REAL mountain dew)

-Traded for a shirt, when went unused-

“A shirt, a shirt, my corn for a shirt”

  2. What did you name your road vehicles?

It was believed that to not name a vessel (or horse) was bad luck. That was extended to planes (hence “nose art”) & later vehicles.

I think that applies to cars too. I assume many on here do to. Our modern “road-pirate-ships”

I’ve always named my vehicles, whenever I drive them for more than a few days.

    Here’s my list:

    My main:

1985 Audi 5000: Spectre (thought looked like a James Bond car)

1987 VW Vanagon: Grey Ghost/Spectre II (would disappear in parking lots)

1990 Miata: ThunderSled/Fenix (after major repaint & makeover)

    2009 Scion xB: Flying Brick

    1995 Tacoma: Rufus

(In driveway: Rufus, Fenix (until a month ago, Brick was too ….)

    Anna’s (wife) main:

    (Not name first car)

1995 Chysler Cirrus: Droopy (Timex alternative after- tornado forms above it with large hail, tree falls across it, hit by 3 other people, all with minor damage (hood replaced & repaint was sum total)

    1997 Ford Taurus: Blue Oval

2004 Grand Caravan: Queen Anna’s Revenge

2017 Pacifica: Queen Anna’s Revenge II

    In driveway: QAR2

    “Other cars”

1986 Dodge Ram (borrowed): Constipated Pig

1994 Ford Crown Vic (inherited, as thought I needed a car with more than 2 seats, replaced by xB): Cruiser

2017 Grand Caravan (in-law’s currently in our driveway): Grey Ghost II

  3. 6am Monday … head visit.

Some ramdom inlet in Alabama …

    Queen Anna’s Revenge II

    (My wife Anna’s sloop)

Edit (Edit 2, read in voice of The Viceroy for effect, but not his words- far be it!):

The main passage known as “I-85” should be called “Idiot Purgatory” where poor souls wander aimlessly, at random speeds at random times (35-95+) for no apparent rationale (excluding choke-points around Atlanta) … all the way from Montgomery to Greenville, SC (& beyond). I am reminded why I usually take longer routes to simply avoid this passage ….

I survived (just barely in more cases than I can name), though 2 hours were added to my trip vs going down there.

    Ranting done

  4. At Massacre Island, 2023, we got massacred by & massacred (in turn) bugs that only bit below the knee.

If this is an issue at events, this is what the Dauphin Island maintenance folks use. He HIGHLY recommended it. I asked him how he could work here in shorts with the things thar bite below the knee. He went into the maintenance room & pulled this bottle out. “This is what we use & it’s works great. Spray it onto dry skin & let it soak in.”

(Edit- whole label shown, as info on it may be interesting to folks- ingredients , company info, etc. He also gave me the bottle as I was thanking him for hosting & helping everyone during the event, while walking to QAR2 to leave. I’m going to try it at events to see how well it works it’s what they use there. I haven’t tried it yet)

I suggest we get a CASE before the next event where such bugs should be an issue.

    Holy smokes, that is amazing!

Oh yeah, looking forward to some of that!

We are going to have such a food spread - this is going to be more of a Pirate Picnic rather than an invasion!

  6. Sorry about messages.

We’ve had mutiple car issues the last month

My 2 oldest were in wrecks.

1 car was totalled & we had to buy another (car shopping SUCKS right now!)

Had to teach him to drive stick … which he did good enough to drive it to Campus on Sunday.

The other was taken to a shop for appraisal the last 2 days (get from her in Columbia, to Newberry, then picked up in Newberry today & back to Columbia).

    I’ll be better now ….

&  can finish a flag project I started over 10 years ago …
