  1. easy now...i dont think anyone has any hairs in a bunch...just a straight forward question, and some straight forward answers.....and an interesting conversation on "what a plaid/tarten/check"...which i'm not sure if it cleared or muddied it up in my head...(thanks sterling)HA!

seems Foxe found (in his seemingly limitless refferences) at least 1 notation of a tarten short coat....

so...answer seems to be...wear it in good health my boy....there's only 2 of us whose got em!

(actually i have no idea who has em...or numbers...just sayin)

thanks again Foxe and Sterling for the refferences...much appreciated

  2. There's going to be a new pirate in town...

    {option}

howld ya get a picture already??...kid aint even born yet??...I tried to get an "early" shot with mine....had some explainin to do...when the wife woke up....I still have scars from that episode.....sheeesh :P

  3. He will return hopefully, but as a judge this year. Who better to judge others than one who has been judged three times and emerged victorious?

When there is another three-peater, they will then go for the glory of the first one to do it authentically... and die with honor and dignity in the depths of Key West.

    exactly...i concurrrrr.....hey wait a minute.. <_<

  4. yes yes...tis true..as the first ever GRAND CHAMPION...(3-wins in a row)...and subsequent Retirement...to be "put out to pasture"...and used for breeding purposes....

i have relinguished the feild...or plank for that matter...to open the way for the next youg up starts....and volunteer meself as a possible guest judge, or possible "coach" or "trainer" for those next hopeful....

and of course...as i retain the ONLY title of GRAND CHAMPION...will await the day...when another will achieve a 3-in a row....then have a true contest...a contest of Champions

course that at minimum will be 3 years from now...at best.... :P

    may the contest continue

  5. Ya...thought you boys would get a big kick out of that. Week old piss (morning's first 'water') has the good strong properties of ammonia, thus a good cleaning compound and of course, the stench that could choke a horse.

i heard that (mostly from scottish refferences) that the mid-wifes collected expectant mothers urine...for the amonia content...and sold it to the weavers....tho thought it was used more as a "fixitive" for some of the natural dies...!?!?

  6. My Mom Saw it and Just called me and said Eye was in it.. I have cox cable but don't have the channel to see it my self. I think it was the same footage from the video posted online of the walk the plank contest. Was It?

your MoM was right there Oder,

their camara was on board the ship...so they saw and heard ya argue and wave your arms around, then off ya went!!...great shot of ya!!

  7. ok...those who were down at PiP...might have seen the film crewe for the Freakiest Festivals with Dave Gertner, wondering round the festival...

many of the PUB folks were filmed for various segments, Dutch taught the host how to shoot a Musket, Disoa talked about the Garb, and I meself taught him some sword play....and he participated in the Walk the Plank Competition along with others were filmed as well...ok so i am not sure who or what was did..

they will be airring several festivals in this special, in 6 minute segments...so who knows who will be seen or for how long...~?~? ;)

so for those who were filmed...heres your 30 sec of fame....whoohoo!!

airs tonight....on the FINE LIVING NETWORK.....FREAKIEST FESTIVALS with DAVE GERTNER....9pm eastern/8pm central...or check your local listings

  8. I dunno... the more I think about it the more tempted I am to just go to Target and grab a pair of square-toe harness boots for $50, then cut them up, add fake latchets, throw on a GoF buckle, and call it good.

    Thoughts?

always good to have a back up pair....but i do like the way they look...and tis good to explain that these shoes are replicas based off of ones found off shipwrecks....gives one more thing to talk about in a living history and such

but i still do have a pair of fuggawees for back up...or the slop shoes if goinna get messy

    damn...just realized...i'm must be a shoe whore.....dang it :D

  9. Not the best picture, but these are the black/rough out shoes (don;t remember if they are the late or early).
