Consider me signed. I don't wake up until the sun goes down. (No, I'm not a vampire)

Im currently reading "The Thousand Orcs", the first book in the Hunters Blade Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore. I'm also reading The Silmarillion by Tolkein for the fourth time. It amazes me that after reading this book over and over again, I still find something new and interesting to make me want to read it again.

Speaking of nurses, I thought this was an interesting idea so im trying to find more info about nursing in that time period. Other than Charlotte Brown from the French and Indian War, im not having much luck. Does anyone have any ideas on where I might look? Would this question be better suited for Captain Twill?

I smoke cigarettes and cigars (which I think are much better tasting than cigs). I haven't tried a pipe yet but I did get a clay pipe and tobacco for Christmas. Here's a silly question. Did females smoke pipes in the GAoP? The way I see it, it's my choice to smoke. I know the risk but I could get hit by a bus tomorrow or live to 81 (and going strong) like my father who has smoked more than a pack a day for the past 60 years. Who wants to be 6 feet under with pink lungs anyway. I've never been to big on political correctness either.

Yes. While going thru a divorce, I gave him EVERYTHING, just to get rid him in the fastest way I could. Starting over isn't necessarily a bad thing. One of the best thing I ever did. What is your favorite time of day?

My mate and I do a home haunt in Western NY. We build all our own props a majority of them being animated. My hubby does the mechanics, I handle the gore. Here are some pics of last year and also a 5 min video. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v702/leighcollins/? Sorry about the migraine. I get them also. I wonder of many years of my life have been wasted on headaches. If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 books would you bring?

Also answering out of turn. Aye, Ill drink to that. I sent the recipe. Hope you like it. Now back to the regularly scheduled program. From the last post:: Half full Unfortunately not. It has been a long day. What personal achievement are you most proud of?

Car - 94 Sebring Convertable I have a great home-made hot cocoa recipe. email if interested. When replacing a toilet paper roll, do you put it so that the loose end goes over the top of the roll, or so that it goes down behind the roll?

Curl up on the couch with a good book or watch a movie. Woke up way too early today. Wish I could take a nap. Worst job you've ever had?

Coming from Rochester, NY, its been a very warm winter so far. Yesterday was around 50. Too bad it won't stay this way. I've woken up to as many as 3 furry friends on the bed. 2 dogs, 1 cat. Favorite thing to do in a storm?

Being new to the study of pyracy, I should probably just stay in my hiding hole, but since I just read this same subject matter in "Blackbeard" by Angus Konstam, 2006 pgs. 2-4. I'll give you his words. "Who ever Captain Charles Johnson was, he was certainly an experienced seaman. His description of how sailing ships of the time operated and how they performed, and of what conditions on board were like, all suggest that the author was not only well versed in seafaring, but that he also spoke with some authority. He also described sea battles like a grizzled vetran. This alone precludes Daniel Defoe, who, although he was well traveled, was no professional seaman". p3 Climbing back into my hiding hole to read as much as I can. Someday I'll be able to give you my own opinion.

Liquor, especially Tequila and Rum. I wish someone else would eat these left over pies. How many pets do you have?

Thank you for the links and info. They are wonderful resources. My next question is, considering the width of exposure from so many different cultures, aside from the English influence, are there any other documented dances from other cultures? For example, Carribean, Spanish, Italian, etc.

As I've been reading all the different topics on historical accuracy in clothing, weapons, music, etc., a subject that is very dear to me seems to be missing. I'm familiar with all the dance forms of the era (Pavane, Galliard, Minuet, Contra-Dances.......), however I'm wondering if there are any specific dances that would be appropraite for a GAoP reenactment. Besides the timeless grab & grop. If anyone has any research or insight on where I can find more information, I'd appreciate it.
