  1. We drive it each year, and the only real variable has been traffic in Tennessee. we made the trip from Cincinnati area in about 21 hours, with multiple drivers, no real stopping, just gas, food and potty stops. (Must all be at the same time, the Captain doesn't like to make special stops).
  2. We just secured our tent from Panther Primitives. They were a joy to work with, and had lots of helpful advice. We will be using a wall tent for me and the Captain, and our son will be in a wedge with drop cloth. The most important thing about being at PiP, is the being there part. All of the other stuff will just come together for you all. You'll fall in love with the PiP family, as you can already tell by meeting the host crewe The Bone Island Buccaneers! pantherprimitives.com
  3. Definately Hog Roast! Wouldn't miss it! The food is excellent, this price very fair and the company exceptional! We will have some surprises for the Crewe Dinner, so please plan on being there!
  4. Can you post some prices from Key West Express, say with the appropriate "Pyrate Rate"?
  5. Huzzah to ye Redjesse! PiP is the most incredible pyrate gathering in all the world. Tis more of a family, with a few squabbling siblings at battle time, but at the end of the day we are all together and living the life of the sweet trade! I assist with the not PC camping and the sort of PC but not quite camping, and trust me when I tell ye, we ALWAYS have work to be done around the fort, and lodging is not usually a problem, theres always a place to lay yer head. If you still desire the comforts of a hotel, there are plenty to be found. My own crewe of the Sacred Heart is really just a group of wayward pyrates that joined together for the kinship. There is nothing "formal" or "stuffy" about PiP, the only condition to participating is being there! Come join the bretheren!
  6. I believe that the Key West Express folks will be coming out with a special fare for PiP since they are already a sponsor. I will look into it and post as soon as possible. Kate- What time frame are you looking at? Merrydeath- The arrangements are very informal, and tents are always welcome, even the 21st century kind. There are facilities available and a shower on the beach, and always a campfire to cook on. You are welcome to dine with our crewe, as I will be making meals for us, and there is always plenty. Let me know if you have more specific questions, I will be happy to PM anything you need. Just be there, and the experience will be worth the efforts! Huzzah!
  7. You may also want to consider flying into Fort Myers and taking the "Key West Express" fast catamaran to Key West. I looked up fares from Columbus OH to Fort Myers for $238 round trip and the fast cat is like $50 per person. Goes to Key West daily. If you call the number on the Key West Express website, and talk to them, they may even make you a deal, since they are helping with some of the advertising for the festival this year. By the way, for anyone needing rides to or from the airport, Captain Callahan and I will be driving down and will have a great Pyrate (or pyrate hunter) transport vehicle available to pick up folks. Plenty of room for gear etc. PM me with schedule, or call me when you get there, and we can send someone over.
  8. Lily~ Captain Callahan and I would be most appreciative of 2 of your haversack, and we 'ave some O' the Captains artwork for ye as a barter, if'n that would work. Miss ye all!! Can't wait until November!
  9. How about making a trip to Key West for the Pirates in Paradise Festival, and covering the event with a lot of folks on the pub there? We would also be happy to contribute a piece with my husbands photos of you and your staff interacting with the Pyracy Pub Crews... Hmmm thoughts?
  10. Just a note to ye Merrydeath, speedy recovery, and our prayers are wit ye mate! Get well soon! The Callahans Crewe of the Sacred Heart
  11. We just got our copy, and I think it was well done. Many thanks to Pirate Magazine for covering the event, hopefully we can get some additional sparks of interest to add to an already fabulous event! Thanks Harry for making us a wonderful Pirate home!
  12. Yes, we have a projection unit that we bring to Pip for the slide show on Sunday night. We wouldn't need it except for maybe at the Shipwreck Ball or on Sunday night for the slide show. You would be welcome to use it. Also, we have a couple of linen sheets that we have rigged as a "screen" with ropes, so you may want that in your area too. Let me know.
  13. How great is that! Your own pub in the house! Can't wait to see what you guys come up with this year, I'm sure it will be spectacular as always. Have a pint on me!
  14. There are some songs and music of period in some of my old No Quarter Given magazines, but maybe a call out to Beau from the Bone Island crewe may get us there faster, he being quite the Shanty Man for them. I'll give Spike a call, and see what they have.
  15. William, Please add Jezzy the Butcher to our Crewe on the listing. She will be joinin' us for certain!
  16. How fun... Now who's Gilligan? And the Skipper too...
  17. Mission is right, there is not normally any camping allowed at the Fort, but for the reenactors, they make an exception for the festival. There are not any hookups or dumping stations, confirmed this today. If you want to have these amenities, I recommend either Leo's or Boyds. Leo's Campground- Stock Island (305) 296-5260 Boyd's Campground- Stock Island (305) 294-1465 But the best is right at the Fort! We love to camp there!
  18. Marooned.... I'll choose to be Mary Ann!
  19. Dear Cap'n, Might ye be a needin' some papers for yer scenario? Perhaps some "Wanted" type postings or Letters etc? Please feel free to contact us, we would be most happy to provide such articles. Perhaps even the souveniers we had discussed last year? Ideas?
  20. There is on-site modern camping right at the Fort, even for RV's. I'll contact Harry for rules and information regarding the hookups and dumping, but I believe that there are no facilities for either hookups or dumping at the Fort, but they are available as you are leaving Key West in a couple of the campgrounds. I'll verify and repost. Please consider the trip very worthwhile, and there is plenty to do for the kids too.
  21. Well done Jezzy! We ought to print that with ye portrait for ye, so that all may know of the price o mutiny in your crewe. Huzzah to ye lass!
  22. Ahoy mates, Heres all the love and prayers from our crewe to yours. Healing thoughts and speedy recovery Salty! Let us know if ye are in need o' anything. The Callahans Crewe of the Sacred Heart
  23. We have the 1717 proclamation that Capt. Sterling mentions above. Would be happy to email a copy to you. We also place it on parchment as well.
  24. I am afraid I am unable to locate the photo, perhaps you could post it? Or tell me how to locate it. I think from the sounds of it, it would be a nice addition.
