  1. Captain Sterling, Would ye be needin' any actual paper letters of marque or pardons etc? I have parchment that I will be bringing, and we can do them up after your crewe arrives or if you would like to email or pm me with specifics, I can have them ready. We also have a number of wax seals and wax that can be done or brought. We have a very wide selection of fonts as well. Let me know what ye think. Fayma
  2. Oh William, such incredible work! I am deeply impressed, as will be my Cap'n. Please reserve me a copy of the prints for Mercury, and let me know how much. The Crewe of the Sacred Heart will be happy to see this!! Well Done! Thanks, Fayma
  3. Best be a gettin' those letters of marque in order, sounds like the fort may be a right dangerous port indeed! Unless we're figurin' that the pirates have more powder...Oh Callenish...
  4. Huzzah!! We finished all the "Poster Pirates" and they are going to ship today to the Fort! Be sure to look for the Wanted Poster at the entrance to the fort to see who was chosen. We are busily preparing for another exciting year of piratical fun and mayhem! Get ready for even more photo ops this year! See you all in 17 days
  5. The Callahan Crewe has some corrections for the listing. 7. We have had some changes to our crewe, but we are now finally CONFIRMED!! We are confirming the following for the Callahan Sacred Heart Crewe: Capt. James Callahan Quartermaster Fayma Callahan Michael "Manaver" Mucklebones Katherine "Kelpy" Puddles Theobald "Toby" Burke Nicole Andreyko Nigel Sade Zocko Eric Guinne We are sooo excited to have a great crewe. We will be camping modern, but would like to put in to eat with the careening camp, if that is possible, please let us know how to put in funds and pitch in with the cooking details etc. Posters are coming along well, should have a bunch of really piratical poster people! We are selecting 20 individuals for the honor, and the posters will be all over, so look for them when you get there! Gotta get back to the Captain, he be a hollerin for me... See you soon, only 32 more days!
  8. But of course Captain Sterling, after all we have to have SOMEONE to pillage and plunder If you have some high-res pics of yourself and crewe, please email them to me for use, as the only ones of your crewe we have from last year are Mary Diamond and Mark. Hopefully, they will consent as we have some nice pics of them. Email to : faymacallahan@aol.com
  9. We are in the process of making some posters for advertising for the event at the request of the planning staff, Harry and the Bone Island Buccaneers. We are asking if anyone minds us using their image as seen in our photos from last year in some custom digitally painted posters for the event. We have not gone to all the lengths to get releases for all of the thousands of pictures we have of all our pirate friends, but if you would be more comfortable with it, we can use releases. We figure we are among friends, and who doesn't want to see themselves as a poster child for pirates! Please let me know if you would like to be considered, or if you would not like your image used. Only 42 more days!!! Thanks, Fayma
  10. Meself and the Cap'n were also going to purchase some of the flintlock pistols. Perhaps we make the "sale" in advance by charging our cards and printing a sales slip, and just take delivery at a convenient place? Then the "sale" had already taken place, just the delivery was in Key West? Thoughts? We wants our weapons, lets find a way!!!
  11. Where are you located? We are going to be driving down with a van from Indiana, near the Cincinnati area. We could assist with transport of goods if we are close enough to your area, or possibly look into shipping your goods to Harry. The UPS rates are not too bad these days. Let us know, we would sure like you to be able to attend!
  12. Found this site some time ago, perhaps something like the small Paul Revere style? Made of tin and similar, but not nearly as beautiful as the other ones. Thoughts? http://www.ushist.com/set-dressing/lanterns_candle.htm
  13. We still have PIP 2006 covered at our website: callahandigitalart.com See you all there!
  14. Well, the Callahan's have added a few to our group. Officially our crewe will be 6 instead of 2! Please list us as confirmed with our own accomodations (Modern Tents, will work on period for next year) Capt. James Callahan Fayma Callahan Nigel Sade and Lady Sophie Matt Harriet We are so happy that we have a larger crewe than expected. We are looking to caravan down, and will be there early to assist Harry with set up etc. Tis a fine day for the Crewe of the Sacred Heart
  15. I am interested in a beginner Blackpowder class, and think at least a few of my crewe as well. It would be great to work with Callenish, Braze and Cascabel and get it right. I would also like to put my name in the hat to assist as a medical "First Aid" person, as I am a Registered Nurse who works in the Emergency Department and as an Advanced EMT on the ambulance here as my regular jobs. I have all my own stuff to use, and can bring it with me. I am willing to assist in this role, hopefully all we will need is a bit of Tylenol for the rummy mornings, but am very capable for the more serious of issues. I could even help with a "First Aid Tent" or something, if we feel it necessary.
  16. Perhaps not period correct, maybe the wrong "style" but certainly a safer option. I would hate to see Silkie's feet suffer for the sake of a style that would still be out of period correctness. Safety is a concern, at least from my personal experience. The question posed originally, was in regards to safety and comfort. I am sure that the camp would understand this.
  17. Aye, they stretch some, but not very much. The ones I just found also have an adjustable buckle that would allow for it better. The ones that my son had were just rope on top, and stretched with his wearing but after they got wet, they cinched up smaller than they were originally. These new ones seem to have addressed that problem.
  18. The Crewe of the Sacred Heart will be in need of 3 more lanterns. Our total would then be 8. Many thanks. Let me know how to pay for them. Fayma
  19. Found the link, apparently others had the same problem, now they have some that are not rope on top but are hemp material straps. Run about $29. Here is the link: http://www.grassrootsnaturalgoods.com/foot...otwear/048.html Both Men's and Women's, and other choices as well.
  20. Aye, one o' me lads bought a great pair of hemp sandals, even wore them around to break them in an' such. Had them on when he walked the plank and after they dried, they tightened up significantly and cut the heck out of his feet. Blisters and cuts all over the top and sides of his feet. They were very good sandals, and as long as they are dry, he really had no problem, but ask a sailor to stay dry.... For those looking, they are around $25 or so. I can look it up if anyone wants the information.
  21. Huzzah! I would definately want to have at least one cleaning kit to go with probably 2 pistols. Have to wait for Captain Callahan to see these choice weapons to select the ones we would want. I already have me eyes on the one I want! How can I choose though, they are all very nice indeed. The Captain will be back May 4 and I can't wait to show him! Thanks for your help, will be back in touch soon on these!
  22. Tis a royal lot indeed! I am VERY interested now, as if I wasn't before. Is it best to prepurchase or to get them in KW? Our laws aren't difficult at all here in Indiana. Black Powder as of now is not considered a "banned" or mandated weapon. They do register them, but not much of a process except a form at the local PD. What are the prices like? Such splendor! I am in awe.
  23. Callenish, Captain Callahan and I are in need of a couple of flintlock pistols, we would love to make the purchase from you. Any way that you can message me with what you have available and pricing, or maybe just to make sure that you bring them to PIP? Let me know, and Thanks, Fayma
  24. Aye, the printing is more expensive with our inkjet, but we have it down to a reasonable cost, but we are going to have it quoted to get the best deal possible. As soon as we have a plan more solid, we can get it worked out. Being good pirates, the best deal will be found!
  25. Aye, the map! What a great idea! They are getting the paper, and possibly doing the printing, but Master Callahan and I actually have a large format printer here at our studio that we use for our prints and paintings (even canvas), so we can print up to 44" wide on the short side and 50' on the long side, right from here. If they are willing to donate some of the material cost and do the printing low cost or free, then we may consider them to print, otherwise Tony and I would plan on doing it from here. We shall see what they are able to come up with.
