  1. Merrydeath, How courageous and ingenious of you! I think it’s a wonderful idea and perhaps brain storming with us will help. I don’t think I can think of a signal person who has not been touched by this disease in some way. You got checked out, they caught it and you are moving ahead with treatment. My prayers go out to you and all your love ones.

  3. Looking at Monster.Com and brushing up on my resume.
  4. Thank you Ransom. I still have a job...BUT (a HUGE BUT too!) Okay...I'm taking bets now. Big money...and I chalk this up to being in the industry for over 24 years. For those of you who wanted to know how things turned out today with "Boss-Lady" and my review, I got my 'second' FINAL WARNING. Hmmm, this woman just can't do the math, can she? But, fear not...I know that she has another under-handed motive in mind. I was told that her 18 year old daughter will be coming in Tuesday for training so she can cover me on my vacation(s). (Head whips around)...WHA?!?! Wait, it gets better! This young lady has no office experience - straight out of school (May 30th Graduation) and yet, I, this major F*@!-up (so I've been told by Boss-Lady) who can't do anything right, who can't admit when I've done something wrong, who tells lies & fabricates things, who is rude, unaproachable, ...is suppose to train HER daughter. Well, if I was so bad at what I do...how in the world have I lasted this long at my position? Why haven't you let me go if I'm so bad? And finally with all my bad traits why in heaven's name would you LET me train your daughter? Why do you ask?! So I can train her well enough that her daughter can handle the position and then when I "F***!" up again Boss-Lady can kick my ass to the curb. Nice, eh? Well, come Tuesday...Boss-Lady's daughter ain't gonna ride on her mother's coat tails. And if Boss-Lady's daughter thinks she can do what ever she wants ...she's got another thing coming. P.S. Yes, I am looking for a new position...have been for the last month.
  5. Well...couldn't ask to start the day off right. At 8:03 am this morning I am told by Boss-Lady that I have my 6 month review (Oh, I did the math and it has been 9 months since my last review..oh well.) today at 1:30 pm (CST). No warning and really no time to prepare. Crap!
  6. ^ Lovely Victorian accents (wainscoting in dark mahogany wood, flocked wall paper, brass accents) lots of stainglass and Guinness on tap! < Finally, after a month of hic-ups, headaches, and issues with my computer I think I have fixed most of my 'can't access the internet' problems. V Passing long the question.
  7. Dutchie, I've emailed you regarding my arrival to Blackbeard. Have you received it via normal email route? Please let me know if there is any questions.
  8. What the?!? I loose my computer for a month...and suddenly 'tis over?! And then I find out by a posting here? Okay...how the heck am I going to get back to London then???
  9. As Lilly slowly made her way to the upper hall, she found the door slightly ajar. Lilly peered into the dimly lit room and it was their she could see Nelly and Croaker still sitting around the bedside of Captain Sterling. Lilly could bearly make out the low whispering voices of Nelly and Croaker. Nelly's voice was too soft to hear every word, but the tone was worrisome. Croaker's low deep voice now sounded muffled as he lent over the body. With a light tapping on the door Lilly entered. "I have brought the medicine you seek." She said as she handed it over to Croaker. "How is he fairing?" Lilly asked as she took the side of the bed. Nelly sighed. The very sound of Nelly's sigh was like glass into an open wound. "No change." Nelly said, wrapping her blanket about her. "I am going to bed. My eyes will not stay open. Stay with him, Lilly and do let me know if there is any change."
  10. Happy and productive.... House hold is coming together. Big projects to finish this Holiday Weekend and getting the house is some sort of order. ...And looking forward to my salon treatment Thursday night!
  11. Here's to Mister Aluitious d'Dogge, Captain of the Marines! May his birthday be full of wine (I'm thinking Fat Bastard or Mad Dog & Englishman) , women, and a merry jig or two! God Bless ya, Maddogge! And thank God you're fighting on our side! Big Kiss! Cheeky
  12. Aye, that be true! There may be an interesting tale or two told at the tavern. I just hope that Rats keeps the tavern well stocked. If not, he'll have to go down into the cellar from time to time to help replenish the taps! (whispering aside) - I do not care much for that cellar. You never know whom will dig up there!
  13. I LOVE IT! What a great idea! I know a certain Captain who's 'boyz' would love something like that! Where can I purchase it and how much, Iron Bess?
  14. Ooo...a barter would work out lovely! Hmm...I must think what I would like and let you know. I wonder what item I can offer to barter? We'll talk!
  15. This sounds VERY familiar, doesn’t Captain Sterling?
  16. I found this site of Sarah Juniper's (She's over in the UK) of various styles of the 17th and 18th century shoes.... Sarah Juniper 17th Century Shoes Sarah Juniper 18th Century Shoes I see that some of the 'styles' that Sarah has listed in the 18th Century could easily pass for late 17th century.
  17. "CHICK SCREAM" I love the shoes, but too bad the heel, tongue and toe are the wrong cut for the late 1690s. But they are very pretty...
  18. Just snuck over to take a look at Rumba Rue'S Pyrate Con photos and found you there. Rue, looks like you have a ball! Lots of happy faces and VERY busy! Thanks for sharing with us!
  19. Lady B... Have you been reading the thread in Rabble Rousing, "Event Fees" How much do you pay to play? (I am sure you have).... Nathanael T. Logsdon, aka- historyfanatic, has been trying to find out ways to cover expenses associated with the Paynetown Event. I think the best bet is to find out from him the dates of the event.
  20. Captain Tito, If this be true...it would be easy for find out. County records should have the 'latest' Deed of Sale on the books. All you need to know if the physical address and the county it is in. Then once you find the Deed...you can find out the latest date of purchase from it. I am assuming that if it is sometime this year, then the rumors be true. This is all public information. All you need to do it go down to the county court house (Oswego is where it would be located) and look it up. I am sure someone in the court office can direct you to the proper records section. If the rumors be true, I feel a little sadness in my heart...this was the faire that I worked at for 8 years. The faire the got me 'hooked' into Reenacting. The faire, which I compare to others, as the true Jewel of Ren Faire next to Scarbourgh (the Mecca for Rennies). Say it ain't so, Tito...say it ain't so!
  21. What a wonderful idea! Give others a chance to see who's who and the fun we are all having!
