Hats off and three cheers once again to Captain Sinbad and Lt. Brown for a wonderful event. As always the Meka II is a beautiful sight to see in action, especially when one is right alongside in one's private gig. Our thanks to the rowing club that damn near kept up with the tall ships, to the town folk that make us feel so welcomed, to all the staff that take such good care of us, and to the historic areas that allow us to play in their backyards.
The second year was even better than the first with the added actions running down Front St. on the way to the green for the Militia, and the use of the jail prior to the trial and hanging. Just wish I could have seen Dutch being shot out of the Meka's rigging, do hope someone got pictures. A special thanks to Pern, Grace and Jack Tar for yer... ahem... company... in the jail. Always nice to know there are others with you during a rough situation. **cough, cough** Thanks to Hatchet Meg for her expert "heckling" and to Willoughby for service to a dying captain prior to his last jig.
It was great to see the Devilmen, the Shadow Players and the Black Flaggers. It is always a pleasure and an honor playing with you lot.
As always, great scenarios, fantastic fighting and the very best of company especially back in the camps Saturday evening, made even more memorable with Rusty Cutlass and his mates playing just for the family. For all the fun during the day, nothing beats the camaraderie of after hours with them we hold dear. Until we cross blades again in Pennsylvania next month, fair winds to ye all.
