  5. Oh I missed this one....looks like a bad limbo contest...

  11. Hmmm considering Rogers took up the governorship of the Bahamas pretty much pro bono and went bankrupt trying to get rid of the pirates in the area, build up the areas defenses and generally get the island to be productive..and seems to have sent letter after letter for assistance from England to little avail, I think Rogers might have had a bit of trouble if a united force of pirates had tried to seriously attack. Hornigold, who held quite the sway in the area as a pirate earlier on, turned and took the King's pardon and went to work for Rogers as a Pirate hunter, knowing he supported Rogers might cause Vane to to think twice and even Teach for that matter since he was under Hornigold's command, again earlier on. It would have made for some interesting history if it had happened, win or lose, I think Rogers would have put up one hell of a fight. Any one who can remain on deck during a battle, laying in his own blood with a ball in the roof of his mouth and still command by writing orders is one pretty tough bastard in my book.
  12. Let's not put the cart before the horse here. I agree with William, let's hope for the best and let the powers that be do what needs to be done first...once they say tis over then we can bury the beast, but not yet...keep yer chins up.
  13. Nope... live in a tobacco state...
  14. In all honesty, I do not expect anyone here to make any purchases from the link I posted. My intent was to provide examples of originals for people to learn from and to provide examples that people can use for comparisons when looking for replicas laces in stores or for hunting in such places as Ebay... IF you know what you are looking for, you never know when you might get blessed...Like I did on ebay when I won my auction for only fifty bucks (and that included shipping)... As for learning how to... there are some very good tutorials online for needle lace, time consuming aye, but a lot easier than it looks and you do not have to invest in bobbins. Although either a bobbin lace or needle lace demo in camp would certainly be a plus for the hobby.
  15. http://www.mendes.co.uk/antique.lace.p.two.html different examples of period laces... including needle and bobbin etc..
  16. Oh I know the rules well.... just wondering if ye did, which obviously ye do not... best run and take cover, I feel a keel hauling coming on
  17. I know FB but what is FA and exactly a..hem... how does that rank?
