  11. I've heard about that $1.99 gas. In October we're going to a period style wedding in Williamsburg, I'm hoping it'll be that cheap or cheaper when I go to fill that 100 gallon RV gas tank. Yeah I hear you! Another wedding in Williamsburg, eh? I was actually married in the King's Arms Tavern... we were to get married on the green before the Govenor's Palace but the rain ruined that for us... so we were offered the small foyer in the tavern... the manager was thrilled. He said as far as he knew we were the first to get married there and the meal that followed was superb! Will this wedding tie in with the Yorktown event? I'm thinking of driving over and saying hello to some old friends... not that the dragoon uniform fits any more... I think I now fall into that category of yours called the "more experienced"...
  12. It was all he could do but to stare at her as she pulled back gently from him. "Tis glad I am that ye do understand then," he whispered. "I could no longer abandon this child then you could cast little Meagan back into the Port under her own care and guidance. Thank ye." His hand slipped back about her waist, then slowly began to stray over her form. "When this meeting is over, come back and read to me? I could do with something to stir my mind a bit and... " he looked up at her, his hand coming to rest along her cheek. "And I am in need of yer good company."
  13. I tell ya, I hope this lasts and continues on a downward spiral...sure would be nice... on a trip a few weeks ago, Kentucky was down to 2.32. This past weekend NY was 2.55 and now in VA, Thank God, we're down to 1.99 in some places.... would be nice if next event season could boast the same! Some of the prices have turned an ordinary event of a hundred bucks to 500 or more dollar nightmares....
  14. He watched her as she moved from him to do as he asked. For the time, he felt lost, wondering if she would understand. "I think it is the least I can do. Even ... even if he is truly not my own issue, knowing Mistress McKinney's fondness for ready cash, it is the least I can do, to include him along with Sarah in my will. If," he felt the next few words catch in his throat before he could speak them, a sudden nervousness overwhelming him. He swallowed before he could continue. "If, I were to ... remarry... say there were a girl that would ... have me... she as well as any other children would also be added into the will's keeping. I can not promise ye ...her ... the woman that might wed me....much, but I shall do the best I can."
  15. His hand slipped about her waist. He closed his eyes, wishing he could pull her nearer... he needed her now, more than he had ever thought he could and in more ways then just physically. He chuckled softly to himself, not that he was in any condition to pleasure her at the moment. Instead he took a deep breath and nodded his head in the direction of the paper Meagan had just completed for him. "There is something I have not told ye yet. Mainly since there truly has not been the time to tell ye. I would ye would look over that information. Chere, there is a child, a boy... I did not learn of him until just a few days past. I want ye to know as I want no secrets between us. I know not what Mistress McKinney will require regarding the child, but I cannot abandon it and will do what I can to raise him proper."
  16. "Are ye troubled by my request?" Sterling asked, the fingers of his right hand straying to her curls.
  17. He could not help but smile when he saw her. So far his day had been one befuddlement after another. "Come here Chere, please," Sterling said. "And close the door behind ye."
