  1. ^ Hardly ever and with UVA right down the road it is most likely a mistake that I don't. Problem is I HAVE to own the books I like so libraries HATE me, although I do pay above and beyond what they want for the book. <GREAT THING about Charlottesville, TONS of old book stores, and I mean tons!!! V If you see an actual antique of something from your time frame, do you just HAVE to have it? Or are you content to go observe and take notes on it?
  2. ^ Ahem... the boat! But Mr. March is wanting to finish another swivel, a 12 pounder and carriage and then he's figuring on a long boat... Give him, Pete and Rats a week... < Decisions, decisions, do I want books or lining fabric... need silk but oh so many books to chose from! V Top book on your wish list?
  3. ^ hmmm for myself, its been awhile, but did my share for the crew for RF2, but now there is a bit of a loll, so off to make myself a new red 1690s coat and a new gray 1720s coat... then back to crewe sewing... new doctor, new helmsman, and tons of ASC clothing to make for all the newbie sailors. < You know I think I may actually be tired tonight!! Tis a mystery! V I and my crew are DIYers, but what can you NOT do for yourself and find yourself forced to purchase for events?
  4. ^ Silver engraved Queen Anne pistols < have birthday money and now can't figure out how to spend it!!!!!!! V What piece of kit are you pining for?
  5. :) Well always know you both are welcome and time you can swing it! :)
  6. ^ Well when I got married was doing American Rev. War, first folks to get married in the King's Arms Tavern in Williamsburg... the spouse never did reenactments and still doesn't (although is getting interested with the pyrates) but did the entire wedding in period correct kit... must be true love! < landed a bunch of new recruits from RF2...how grand is that? back to sewing! V How long do you give new recruits to get their kit in order?
  7. Two parties does indeed sound grand... nothing like playing hard both day and night!
  8. Sounds good all the way round... if the hubby is hooked ye may be flying out to play with us sooner than you think!!
  9. ^ Clean??? < geeze got to run V reenactor box, trunk, closet, room, or garage??
  10. ^ depends on the desert, but I've done it both ways < You know I'm actually tired, bet I could actually take a nap now but have to run to another meeting... V bracing for more snow and ice this week how about you?
  11. Glad to hear you had a great time, but tell us some details! being nosey
  12. He closed his eyes as she kissed him and found himself to be content for the moment. He found he could not open them again when he tried. "I am tired Chere," he repeated again without thought then quickly gave into the slumber he had tried so hard to fight.
  13. Sterling..lol I was waiting for ye to check in. This ^ is especially true for me and when I wrote it you came to mind and I thought "Oh Sterlings gonna laugh at this one" Welcome to the club mate~ At RF2 laid down and hoped to get two hours worth of sleep...usually I get to bed late and Cheeky is up and bouncing off the walls around five or six with me grumbling a mile a minute... no one should be that happy first thing out of bed. But at Chicago, just laid there finally got up, dressed and wandered around the hotel, both Cheeks and Aurore whispering at me..."What the hell are you doing?" I think the only night I actually managed a few hours was after Pete's grogtinis... more like passed out instead of falling asleep... I think I'm like Merrydeath... you get to a point and think why bother going to bed at all and you just start all over again with a quick shower and a change of clothes.
  14. Oh my ghad, don't you just HATE that!?! I find myself humming my kids' songs... and people always turn around and stare at you like you are some nut job...okay in my case, they're right... but ye get some wacky song stuck in your noggin and it just keeps going and going and going...
  15. Weakened hand raised, allowing fingertips to linger on soft cheek of beloved. "Are ye certain?" he asked and yet he knew already the answer to his question. He settled back, eyes half closed with need of sleep and polluted from doctor's drugs. "Thank ye Habibi. Ask what ye need. Symms will tend to ye, whatever ye wish."
  16. Gentle squeeze was given to her hand. He wished nothing more than to hold her and be held. He had never felt so uncertain of himself and so very weary. "I am so very sorry to have done this to ye," he whispered. "Perhaps in a day or two I will be deemed fit enough to return home for a bit. I am so very tired Chere." He shifted slightly and looked up at her, his gaze steady. "I shall not keep ye here any longer than ye must. I know ye are not comfortable. If ye wish to call in Mr. March he will see ye safely back to yer brother."
  17. "I love you Chere," he whispered. "I want to make it right between us but I no longer seem to know how."
