  1. I can't tell you how much I would love the crewe to go to PiP, but I know most of us just can't swing it or the time off this year... hopefully next year!
  2. Get a copy of Maureen Waller's 1700 Scenes from London Life and Restoration London by Liza Picard... both deal a bit with mourning customs, although this be every one and not on ships.
  3. ^ Nine times out of ten, if the kids are happy, the parents are happy! Especially if they don't have to spend tons of money Keep them entertained, teach them a thing or two and the family walks away content and they usually come back the second day! < Hot chocolate sounds good about now too. V Biggest crowd you've interacted with at an event
  4. Tis a bloody awful weekend PiP or not... especially in PA. What am I saying?? just got back from Chicago in Feb. From the sound of it this year's RF3 is a done deal, with the paperwork signed and all, but perhaps since you all seem to know your dates for PiP way in advance, Croaker and Cheeky can make sure that Mike B. knows ahead of time when he books for next year.
  5. Awful close to the holidays either way too...
  6. Oi!!! Now, now, must be the ladies but to have Jack tucked in amongst them might give the crowd a chuckle!
  7. Sorry you know me... always throwing travel time into the equation but tis that weekend none the less...
  8. ^The spouse and kids (daugher 12 & son 8 both midshipmen and Anna also plays the Captain's daughter... can't start them soon enough says I), then I guess it would be the Wif and Mistress.. oh and the ship, aren't we captains all supposed to be in love with the boat!!. < Pip many conflict with RF3... what a bummer V What is the most important thing you can pass along to your kids?
  9. Tentative dates Nov. 30-Dec. 29, 2007. Gettysburg, PA... same time as Pip?
  10. Tentative dates for RF3 Nov. 29-Dec 2 in Gettysburg, PA. Same weekend as Pip??
  11. ^ Who'd want it?! < four subs today, fifth grade was like feeding time at the zoo! I need a smoke!! V Love to interact with kids at events or would you rather they stay with their parents off in the distance?
  12. Yes the girls were cute and pretty clever... they were walking like robots, all had both hands in a Vulcan salute, and they were speaking like robots as well...with their bathing suits on over their pjs.... they should have let them into the ball for a bit!
  13. Oops posted just after Chole...sorry about that...
  14. ^ by hand actually quicker than machine in some cases and to answer Chole... period correct drawers, no one going to see them but the better half... < lining, the books will have to wait...sigh... never enough birthday money... V gift money burn a hole in yer pocket?
  15. ^ I'd stay in Virginia... I must confess I do love it here, BUT I think I would move closer to the coast... maybe Williamsburg still enough country outside the area.... < hmmm dream location, house in the woods in the mountains right next to the sea...not asking too much V What would be the first thing you would steal off a merchant ship?
  16. When the entire fifth grade tells me "You know, you really look like a pirate captain and you walk like one too," and I'm in mundane clothes pacing the class room...
  17. ^ Hope you make it back! Um, only ten. < Hmmm storm watch coming up, looks like several more days off from school, better by the silk for lining so I can polish something off while I have the time. V Would you care if your captain dressed down once in awhile or would you expect him to be spit and polish all the time?
  18. ^ oh yes, just gave away a custom made beaver silk topper, made by a London company using the actual blocks/forms from 1880s... < Fortunately I have two... still wasn't easy because I know I cannot replace them V Ever see something destroyed before your eyes that could not be replaced?
  19. Aw Pete, ye say the nicest things about yer captain...ooops you mean yer real boss...
