Actually the cut on the front of the coat is not too bad really... Not sure about the neck edging... looks a bit too smooth for what I have seen in patterns from actual garments... any chance on a picture of the back since the pleats were what really made the coats so interesting.. its that..."swish" thing when yer fencing... Also is the coat lined? Hangs a little... um... limp... waistcoat looks fine, except I prefer the longer ones...

Keep one for work and one for parties...

I think Kass usually recommends flat felled or french seams for the insides of linen garments, unless you are lining the garment... she also has a list included in her patterns that teaches you all the proper period stitches that were used if you do not wish to use the machine... If you can't afford all her patterns, I still highly recommend purchasing at least one for the stitching instructions alone... hmmm she should make a little booklet for sale with just that info....
