  1. Well done... was accepted to William and Mary but chose Allegheny College instead...
  2. 1. I have personally met Queen Elizabeth II of England at her real birthday party at Powis Castle and been allowed to carry the keys to several castles in my back pocket, not the easiest task I might add 2. I have worked with Dick Richards (Tootsie fame), Tommy Lee Jones, Rip Torn, James Mason, Robert Urich, just to name a few and on Blue Peter (and English TV kids show). 3. I graduated summa cum laude from William and Mary college
  3. Not to mention paint that will wash out of your kit...
  4. Thanks Kass, yes I hear what you are saying... just surprising how they rely on this "garment" in a lot of the house tours... Gables even claims that one of the portraits is of the dress... They make it sound so common, but the only place I have ever heard of it is in that town.. so that I figured if anyone had heard of it, you would.... I think I will call them on it next time just to see where they got their info from...
  5. I am curious about what a lot of tour guides, for example in the Seven Gables House in Salem, refer to as that "one" dress that a woman got married in, was pregnant in, and then was buried in. I forget the term they used to call it, but they made it sound as if this one particular dress... yes one, actually went all the way from wedding to grave and was adjustable, like a later sackgown, and only worn on special occasions. If this is true how far back did such an item go? Has anyone heard about such in the GAoP?
  6. ^ Ticks <Too many of them in Virginia V pass question along
  7. You two are making me REALLY nervous now!
  8. Oi, Cheeks, ask the Governor if he speaks Latin...
  9. Aye I saw that, just making sure in case ye lads start getting desperate...snigger.
  10. **WHEW** Bean fails in the stacked, sensual and not too bright category...Straight A's finally good for something... Or I guess I would have to kill you....
  11. IF we can nominate another... I would like to nominate Skittles' work as well, especially if you have a most humorous category...
  12. Three pairs of drawers?? For one weekend?? Now who's the fancy dan...just use yer shirt...
  13. I nominate William Red Wake, I could be wrong, but I have a feeling he's done more than his own here...
  14. My delimma is the far ends always seem to pull to the left... I can straighten em afterwards but why I can't get them straight when being sewn... ??? Maybe I should try Kass's bar tack instead of the fan. In which case how do you reinforce the fabric under the bar tack?
  15. There you go, just mail them to RH... if she's willing to take on just buttonholes on occasion, that should make you both happy.
  16. This is an old set of instructions on how to from the BAR... I would also mark with chalk instead of pencil... the chalk completely disappears as you are working the buttonhole... pencil doesn't....I would switch out the cotton thread for linen or silk though and I perfer to cut the buttonhole open AFTER the stitching is done... some original pieces, such as embroidered waistcoats that have not yet been turned into finished garments, show the buttonholes not being cut but already finished... Kass can correct me here..
  17. Keep in mind, that this could mean free publicity for them as well...
  18. One major thunderstorm outside... it is brilliant!
  19. Maddogge and Rats... Croaker wants to try and come join us as surgeon at Pike's and Paynetown... please contact him with any info you may have regarding it and please get what ever info you may need from him as well... Oh and our new Highwayman is joining us at one event... sans his horse this time... unless one of you can get the horse in at this short a notice?? In which case let me know and I'll contact J & DR and Amigo... snigger.
  20. Ahoy Croaker Are you not on the Archangel Site?? Pm me with your private email and I'll fix you up over there... that's where all the major info is... Pike's River (3-5) and Paynetown (following weekend) are both in August.. Sterling
