The day lingered as Sterling slept, but as night finally fell once more, he finally roused and found Nelly asleep in the chair besides his bed. With great care, he removed himself from the bedclothes and acquired his clothing. After dressing, he made his way downstairs and out of the house, then cautiously, moving in great pain, he made his way to the beach and the boat that would be waiting from the Archangel.
For now he needed to leave this place and clear his name. Then he would return for what belonged to him.
