  1. Another delegator... whatever happened to leading by example...
  2. Aye the roast is the place to be... if ye can stay awake!
  3. Thanks to HatchetMeg of the Blackbeard's for all the great pictures.
  4. More to be posted for those that are interested in the photo album section under Beaufort.
  5. Late as always but the wishes are still sincere... hope yer birthday was grand!
  6. Yes there is a Home Depot within driving distance... some of the guys just slept in hammocks with a tarp over head... at least last year there were quite a few number of trees that made that possible.
  7. Well there are a number of debates regarding pc camps in PiP and Twill. As pirates had no reason to carry tents on board, I would suggest a wedge/lean to style tent that, if you really stretch your imagination MIGHT pass for a sail... if that would suit yer needs, but then again, perchance there be more than ye, the missus and the young mistress...? Panther Primitives and Tentsmiths are the ones I have dealt with and was happy with both. I think Callenish used another vendor... and if you are handy with needle and thread, Mickey Souris made himself a very nice little shelter, he could give you pointers. I have seen wedge tents go any where from 150 per tent to 300 (and in many cases poles, ropes and stakes are an additional cost). My wall, which sleeps a goodly number of the crewe when necessary is 12 X 16 and cost about 1500 when I purchased it about seven years ago... Honestly the larger wall was great for Wild West but is a total nusiance for GAoP. Except that Silkie can possibly use it for part of the ordinary some times, I would trade it for three wedges/lean -tos any day...
  8. Ha, little Raigen gave him a good glare. I need to upload the picture of it. I bet she scared the livin daylights out of him...
  9. Damnation Nell is Nigel scaring the wee ones again? Tell him Sterling said to get it right, tis the big ones that need the scaring! As to yer first time out at PiP, do what ye can, but no sense in killing yerself over it. Come out and have some fun, the rest will come with time... we all had to start some where...
  10. Hmmm ordinarily I would say drop by the house and take a breather, but I am hoping to be on the road late Tuesday night as soon as somebody gets off of work... and I would tack on a few hours at least to Mapquest's estimate... took me 22 hours from my place in Virginia and we only stopped for gas and to grab food what we ate in the car....
  11. Check on eBay - they often have wooden carpenter's chests that are perfect for this sort of thing. They can even have layers of sliding trays inside. I have one like that and I got it for a REALLY reasonable price. Gotta love eBay! Great find!
  12. Dutch may not have known which of us was actually using his musket.. Which is why he wouldn't have shared that tid-bit. But all the same, I plead innocence on this one. Kind of like a Trojan Horse that musket...
  13. Gee Mickey why do I have that GREAT BIG cloud of black powder smoke in front of me and ye only have that tiny little one? Well you see.... It's all Dutch's fault. Yep, that's right. Blame Dutch! I borrowed a musket for Nick to use, and well since Nick didn't know Dutch too well, he insisted on using my musket because he was more comfortable with it, and made me use Dutch's musket.. So you see, it's all Dutch's fault. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! OH NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE!!! Dutch didn't let me in on that little bit of information! He just kept callin ye whoofer while we were out on the boat and I just kept banging my head on the gunwale, but it was brilliant when ye yelled out bang... I think we should do an entire battle that way...
  14. pencils, inks, needle, thread and fabric when time is short, grab a pencil... but then I have been known to sew a Nagra tape recorder back together when out on a shoot.
  15. If ever ye find yerself at an event on the East coast or the midwest and the crewe is there, ye better make yerself known. I owe ye a drink!
  16. Gee Mickey why do I have that GREAT BIG cloud of black powder smoke in front of me and ye only have that tiny little one?
  17. Yaaaar but at least you have a spoon now. edit: however, ye lost yer independence. Hmmm I do have several sharp, very pointy forks in my pocket.... as fer giving up one's independence, we all give up a little to who we hope may be the right people... NOTE Bess is NOT the right person... ...and by the way.. she is for sale! Cheap... VERY cheap....
  18. Yer the last person I need coming to my rescue.
  19. With a hat like that, I would not dream of a fair fight Sir. Good show I shall retire with the other quartermasters to our bean counting. Damnation man, who said anything about fair? Tis staying alive what matters!
  20. Ah Lass...ahem... remember tis only so much that the vehicle and trailer can hold...along with the bodies that need be going.... if ye are to cook for the entire camp... might I be suggesting a simple menu of items that can be obtained in Key West that won't cost an arm and a leg. And, after watching cooks fall like flies because of the heat just in Virginia, I would suggest you get more than one cook to do all that work... nothing wrong with more than one taking a stir at the pot along with the cleaning up afterwards...
  21. I choose spoons. Any good pyrate will tell you, confusing the enemy is half the battle. edit: will also accept disgusting them with idiocy. Ah spoons tis then! Just hope ye don't mind me firing 'em from my blunderbuss!
  22. I take offense sir! Well I would take offense if I took my job seriously, but still! Yaaaaar! Right then, have yer seconds contact mine... swords or pistols is yer choice, either is fine by me says I.
