I read that the Royal Marines didn't officialy exist until 1733 or 1755 (I will have to find the passage again...unfortunatly I don't have many good reference books, so I'm stuck with "The Wooden World An Anatomy of the Georgian Navy" a bit later time period but as close as I've been able to find so far....) Prior to that time the Navy just used regular infantry as marines...... I'm trying to find good information on the infantry from about 1669 for my Persona.... (thats why the passage about the Royal Marines caught my attention, )

Right now I'm just drinkin the rum and eating the bread..... but I might try it this afternoon when I make another loaf..... A RECIPE Put a good sized dollop of oil In a hot frying pan ... take about two handfulls of the broken tortilla chips from the bottem of the bag and crunch them into little bits, put them in the frying pan and stur them so they kinda soak up most of the oil.... Now scramble two or three eggs in the frying pan with the tortilla chip bits..... Crunchie scrambled eggs...... (I like it with catsup and hot sauce on top.... but that is purly optional....)

I finaly got around to looking up the chapter in "The Book Of Buckskinning IV " on tempering a knife blade.... After rough forging and "packing" the edge... then annealing... to temper the blade they used a heavy red hot iron block to transfer the heat to the blade... I would be a big production.... to heat a block long enough for a cutlass.... but it might be worth the effort..... I will have to do some more research.... I'm not quite satisfied with the blade I have now, and want to get/make something better..... if I do buy something, I will get it just for the blade.... make my own handguard and fittings....

I want to keep my Enfield..... but I'm trying to save up enough to start buying the parts to make a period musket.... been searching some of the web for more info.... so far Track of the Wolf looks like it might be my best source...

The weather is icky and snowy, so you wear your pyrate Sea Coat...... because it's the warmest coat you own.......

Gotta be..... or I'd starve..... (single) Of course some of the stuff that I cook, I'm the only one that will eat it......

Gresshoppers are yummie also..... grab them by thier back legs and eat them like little hoursdouvers.........

Yah..... that was mine..... I spray painted it black.... got a bunch of gold coins and drilled holes through them to hang them... and made sugar skulls. I did a web search for the Mexican Day of the Dead, but didn't have the ingreadeants that were listed, so I experimented..... whiped an egg white, and mixed it with sugar.... made a (sticky) clay like mess that I molded into skulls... they dried hard by the next day.... On New Years Eve, I took the tree outside (after taking everything except the flag off the tree) and attempted to set it on fire.....(no problem with fire hazard.... there was about two feet of snow on the ground...) I had fun trying to light the tree... my neighbors must realy be wondering about me..... but it just wouldn't "catch" If I do it again next year.... I'll use more run (in me) and some gas (on the tree...) get that sucker realy blazing....... figure its a fitting end for a pyrate tree.......

I was looking outside today... and had a thought...... I could get a whole buncha tan paint, and paint alla th' snow so it would look like sand..... maybe even paint a few of the trees so they looked more like palm trees.... don't know wot th neighbor will say about me painting thier house a "nice" shade of blue to look like the ocen tho.......... "....I shot six holes in my freezer....I think I got cabin feavor....I gotta go where its WARM........"

It would be cool to be able to see more..... Seeing a picture of a thing and seeing it for real are two different things..... Can't wait to see it next PiP............

Bread Machine News Flash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just discovered that by adding an extra tablespoon of sugar to the mess ..... the loaf bakes lighter and fluffier........... Now ter find out wot happens iffin I add some rum........
