As a Civil War reenactor, I proudly portray Pvt. Enos Dinkle (2nd VA Vol Inf)... I thought about bringing the "Dinkle" moniker into Pyracy, but figgered it'd raise too many questions, and I have enough f that in the 19th century already. Like Bess (above), when I first went to log in, I accessed a pirate naming web page, and elicited several random names (you only need to enter "A" and "B", etc. to get a new name each time). Armed with a few samples, and fresh from finishing a copy of Treasure Island, I created "Cap'n Pete Straw" totally out of thin air as adequately piratal without being overtly obvious in any area, and easy to remember. ...and "Pete" made the running for two important reasons, one of which I won't post in a PG-13 format.

I am fully in support of a new sub-forum that will be dedicated to suggestions for new sub-forums. Show of hands, all who agree?

I think the inscription on the blade reads "Not To Be Wielded By Pirates Under The Age Of Fourteen." Sorry.

Wow! What a bargain! Did you see that he claims... "Originally sells in this Museum Quality condition for :$129.99" Of course this might mean that some poor sap purchased this for $129.99, then realized he had been totally ripped off, and would like to try to sell it on eBay for, oh, let's say... hmmmm... a starting bid of US $69.99, but you can Buy It Now for $89.99 !

So, I'm being treated to an etire concerto by my daughter as she practices. Right now? "Think of Me" (Andrew Lloyd Weber -- are ye out there, Christine?) on the violin.

My son received two packs of the new series in his Easter basket this morning (we celebrate holidays when we are with the kids.... that way, they don't miss out). Nice looking cards.

Now listening to my oldest daughter play "Ashoken Farewell" on the violin. Dang, she's good...

Well, my daughter is practicing the violin right now (at age 16 she's been playing for 11 years and, yes, she is DAMN good, as may be expected)... So I would be listening to Vivaldi's Concerto in A Minor, Second Movement.

Listening to "Cutthroat Island" on the telly. Found a used VHS copy for $3 at a resale shop Tuesday night. My son is wathing it for the first time.

Please accept my apologies for the typos. I usually proofread better than that.

Styx: Renegade No offense, but upon reading almost all the lyrics being listed here, the tune immediately snaps into my mind. I guess I'd rather not be stumped every time, but these are way too easy (Beatles? Styx? Heart?). But if it were too hard, I'd get bored and stop reading this theread, I guess. Okay, this isn't that heard either... "My damsel, she’s a woman with coal black hair, Don’t you look her in her eye when she starts to stare, ’Cause her beauty drive you crazy And her potions steal your soul, No matter how you beg her she don’t ever let you go"

If it's a vote you're calling for, in my opinion PLUNDER and CAPTAIN TWILL are enough. I have posted, as appropriate in both places on appropriate topics. But if a new sub-topic is added, I will be there!

Whoah -- read your full long post... Mad Woman Cheryl -- are you saying you are a Klingon? Jeez, this is a small galaxy.

Rumba Rue! Don't stack cats! Don't go there! Run! Run and warn the others! For me, this is all mostly play, but you are all getting far more of my real life revealed in here than I ever intended. I have always endeavored to toe the PG-13 line, as initially explained to me (by Merrydeath, BTW)... although some clearly step over that line, I get where people are coming from, and generally support them. Merrydeath (I really don't mean to keep quoting her...) said recently, somewhere else, about "no blood between pirates" and I agree and support that, as well. (Although the recent troll attacks cheesed me off -- but they did not belong here) Ironically, I despise electronic communication of this exact sort because it is so very precisely easy to completely misunderstand what another person means to say. Whenever possible, I carefully reword all my posts (except when I am REALLY drinking a lot of Guinness at the keyboard) to ensure my throughts are clearly stated -- obviously, not everyone does that, and I support them, too. Sadly, 99% of my job involves e-mail communication which, as I said, I despise; I prefer live communication. Perhaps more sad is that I try to spend much of my free time talking electronically to all of you (EXAMPLE -- did you understand that sentence? Upon re-reading it, it sounds wrong, like I am insulting you comrade pirates. But I am NOT rewording it to emphasize my very point). What I am trying to say, perhap, is.... I don't envy the moderators. By and large, I feel they are doing a fair job.
