  1. Aye greetings Miss Cheryl, perhaps we'll make it down to MDRF next month and we can catch up with all ya's down there. The wife and I have been invited to a Halloween party, so she has actually showed interest in purchasing some garb.

Sept 10 "Pirates Day" is in Barnegat NJ. My daughter and I plan to dress up and walk around, I'm gonna pick up some "cheap" gold coins to give out to the kiddies. Should be fun!

And speaking of Maryland, I was just down in the small town of Mayo where I purchased a sailboat. The main reason why I had to put off the trip to PARF. Used up most of me dubloons.

So now I'm the proud owner of a 1976 Hutchin's Com-Pac 16, she needs a bit of refitting but no one would call her old. She has a bluff bow, lovely lines. She's a fine seabird - weatherly, stiff and fast. Very fast, if she's well handled. No, she's not old. She's in her prime." :)

I'm looking for a May 2006 launching and I'm trying to talk me better half into having a denaming/renaming party.

Well back to careening the hull.

    -Wil

  2. Won't be making it for Pirates weekend, just too much going on in August around the house here. I hope to get out some time in September. Actually a nearby town has it's own "Pirates Day" festival on Sept 10th so I plan on attending that, in garb of course. Went last year and only seen one guy dressed up so I'm hoping to see a few more characters roaming the streets this year.

Have a great time @PARF!

  3. After a few days ashore, Wil now found himself back on board and the solid deck of the Watch Dog felt good under his feet. Though he did his part to help with repairs to the ship he did so detest shore work. Aboard a fine vessel is where his heart lay and the reason which lead him to a life at sea in the first place.

Gunner Firethorn walked the deck a bit; paying his respect to the various officers he passed, before heading below decks to his cannon station. As he approached, his mind drifted back to the days after he left home as a young lad. Living in Dover for a bit trying to find employment on a Merchant ship, he spent many a night carousing with the ladies at the local tavern. His hand lovingly caressed the gun over the name he hastily scratched upon her…Charity.

  4. The days chores build a mighty thirst in Firethorn's throat. When word goes out about extra rum, Wil scampers to be first in line for his double ration.

  5. After making contact with Petee, Wil fetches himself a fresh mug of ale before taking up his position at the gun implacement.

  7. Well instead of leaving Sat. morning we've made changes to get out this afternoon and hopefully beat Dennis to FLA. This should be fun!

I also decided to take along a bit of me garb(pants, shirt, belt) to wear on pirates night. After looking on some of the Disney sites it seems a few, and I mean a few people do dress up. If I don't take anything I'll kick myself later, so me daughter and I will plan to dress up and to the total disapproval of my 16 year old son.

  8. ooc: Don't want ya's ta think I fell over board... so I be makin' it known that I'm a headed down for vacation in FLA, in time for hurricane Dennis of course. So figure ole Wil is below deck polishing the weaponary or caulking the seams.

  10. Wil lifts a foot as Scuttle zips through his legs. His face wears a smirk that slowly turns to a grin as his hand pats the pocket that contains the gold watch. Aye! …thieving good monkey he be.

  11. Wil looking for the quarter master spies the ladies instead and decides to head in there direction. As he walks up he takes note of Swan down on the deck, not aware of what is going on he quickly blurts out as he approaches. Mornin’ ladies… Tips tricorn… Miss Siren and and… looking down. Miss Swan... had a bit too much rum last eve my dear?

    ;)

  12. Hearing a squeal she glanced up to catch Scuttle the monkey Phil had given her for the voyage holding a mans golden pocket watch.  Glancing hastily about she called over the monkey and took the watch studying it then handed it over to Will.

"What do you think?  Know anyone that wear's such a fancy piece?"

Hearing the call for Two days shore leave she nods to Will and heads for the stairs to the deck.

Wil is a caught a bit off guard by the screeching monkey, he reaches awkwardly for his blade that no longer hangs by his side. Arrrr…it be just a stinkin’ monkey. He looks to Siren the least bit amused by the primate. Sorry dear but I’s hate monkey’s…long story but… He stops as she hands him a gold watch. M’m, fancy that, I guess I be the one now. Wil slips the watch into his pocket as Siren scurries topside, he glances back toward Scuttle. Thanks mate, I be likin’ monkey’s a bit more this day says I. With that he heads to retrieve his cutlass before leaving the ship.
