  1. Patrick - they are expecting more rain in the lower elevations, which probably means more snow for you (eep - sorry!) The parade's still on, though, rain or shine.
  2. You've hit the nail right on the head, Christine! Everyone is different and what works for one person might not work for another. IMO, though, one bond that seems to hold true for most people is common values. It's tough to stay in a relationship if that's not present, no matter what feelings are involved.
  3. Have you tried putting them in the freezer for a couple of hours? They are GREAT that way. I've been trying to avoid buying those cookies, but I might as well bow to the inevitable...
  4. I'm in complete agreement with you on that one. I'd much rather hear the emoting done by the original actor rather than added on by a dubber. You miss out on what the director was trying to do. One exception is the very funny "What's up, Tiger Lily?", but that one was dubbed with a completely different, absolutely nonsensical script.
  5. I used to teach people how to dive in enclosed areas with sharks.
  6. I thought it was pretty good. They did a lot of things really well, but definitely could have improved some areas. In particular, I didn't like the way they chopped it up - 8 minutes of show, 3 minutes of commercials (I timed it.) You just start getting back into the story and you're yanked out of it for the SAME commercials over and over again. I also agree that there were elements that they didn't have to include. The costuming was terrific, though - the pirates were nicely grimy. And yeah, it looks like they just had one, maybe two boat interiors - the exterior long shots were all CGI.
  7. At my last job, not only did I work from 8:30 to 8:30 during the week, I also worked on Saturday mornings, so Saturday used to be my Friday. I'm glad I'm not working those hours any more...
  8. I used to clean sewers and storm drains and test them. (On the larger scale - mainly for municipalities rather than individuals.)
  9. Mostly in the 40's to low 50's, alternating between sunshine, wind and rain. Typical Spring in the SF Bay Area.
  10. Yep, that's it! Your turn, Greenighs.
  11. Yikes! Glad you're over the worst of it Christine! I'm feeling a wee bit frustrated. I'm getting all sorts of calls and e-mails from people who want to hire me to do the same thing I did for the last 1-1/2 years, but am having difficulty getting a response for jobs where I have over twenty-six years of experience. ARRRRG!
  12. "Hand over that cheese and no one will get hurt," the shopkeeper said, trying to keep himself from shouting.
  13. She discovered to her amusement that he was easily led.
  14. Whoo Hoo!! That makes you JACK AND JILL!! (Even if only on the Pub) We're Jack and Jill in the real world as well. We get chuckles all the time... Hawai'ian? Cool... I went through twelve years of Catholic school. {{{shudder}}}
  15. My brother's name is Jack (I know - what are the odds that both my brother AND better half are named Jack...)
