  1. Too cute! The cat really looks like he doesn't know what to make of the situation.
  2. ^ To Vancouver, but I'd go there anyway! < I have a small bottle of that white rum (picked it up in Jamaica ten years ago and haven't opened it yet...) V How far are you willing to travel for your favorite food?
  3. Ah - tetanus shots. Some vaccines are suspended in a water solution, which disburses quickly; others in an oil solution, which takes a few days. OTC pain medication works wonders for tetanus shot pain. I bought a couple of heavier ankle weights and have started using those three times a week. And Jack's been complaining of extra weight, so he's now on board the weight-loss wagon. Makes it a lot easier for me, I'll tell ya. Also, after years of looking, I found a pair of killer jeans in my goal size (in the right proportions - no huge gap in the back of the waistline and they actually go to the waist. Do you know how rare those are???) So I have even more incentive.
  4. Mine have been very amorphous lately - in the realm of the VERY surreal and they cover a wide variety of subjects. Night before last I woke up several times and had a different set of weird dreams each time I fell back asleep, so that was a lot of dreams! I sometimes think over my dreams for a couple of minutes the next morning but there were too many to even try making sense of!
  5. Although she's a bit taller than me, Anjelica Huston comes to mind (think Ice Pirates...)
  6. The subconscious can sometimes do some pretty wacky things. If you've had enough bad occurrances happen where crises seem to be the norm in your life, your subconscious gets USED to always being in crisis mode. So when things are actually going well in your life, your subconscious will manufacture crises in your dreams. That has happened to several people I know and it happened to me as well when I was younger.
  7. ^ Shaftebury Cream Ale - my favorite beer and impossible to get outside of western British Columbia. < Hauling the sailboat out this weekend - she's going to be gorgeous when we're done! V Pass the question...
  8. Or "Thankee for the nice ship!"
  9. 1. Masala dosa 2. Some great fabric - dark red skulls and flames but kind of blurred together. 3. The nice manager at the theatre where we'll be entertaining for the POTC3 premier 4. my brother
  10. Shaking up the system would be a good thing and definitely entertaining. I can understand wanting to stick to a formula that worked for them, but that gets old after awhile. A figurative kick in the pants would do the show some good.
  11. Mad Jack! It's about time you've dragged your sorry carcass back here, mate! We missed ya!
  12. ^Books. Got books in two rooms and boxes of 'em in my attic and garage. < Haven't been able to find a pair of jeans to fit me in YEARS. Besides that low-rise thing (ugh!) there's enough room in the back of the waist to fit a purse into. I don't have big hips, but do have a well-defined waist. Why can't they make jeans to actually fit women's figures??? (Okay - rant over.) V Anything about today's fashions that irritates you?
  13. Cat's out of the bag - THANKS PATRICK!!
  14. ^ Not really an illness - epic-sized kidney stones a few years back. As in both kidneys, they got stuck and I needed surgery. < I'm a total wimp when it comes to anticipating pain, but have an extremely high pain tolerance. V Weekend plans?
  15. ^ Yep - on a few occasions. < When I was in high school, a group of us were in an English Lit class and we were reading a rather boring book. One of my classmates suddenly gasped and jerked upright. When asked what was wrong, she wailed, "NIGHTMARE!" Way to cover your tracks there... V Ever arrive somewhere (walking, driving, biking) and you couldn't remember how you got there?
  16. That would be nice. Unfortunately, most showers are planned by family members who don't know most of the bride-to-be/mother-to-be's friends and so they invite great aunt Petunia and second cousin Patrice, who the bride hasn't seen in years. And the the couple of friends who do get invited know nobody else at the shower. Or a co-worker will throw the shower and some of the people who show up are people that the bride-to-be/mother-to-be wouldn't want to be around but must co-exist with for eight or so hours a day. Traditionally, showers are supposed to be a surprise. That's where they go wrong, with folks trying to keep it from the guest of honor and in the meantime, because she hasn't been consulted, it ends up being awkward.
  17. Oooh - I want one! Give me a sec to finish wiping off the drool...
  18. Yeah, but Bailey's is really good when it's cold!
  19. ^ Fall. The weather is perfect then. And no allergies!! < Still recovering from last weekend. Some assorted aches and bruises. V Pass the question.
  20. ^ My favourite skinny dipping story didn't happen to me. A couple of guy friends of mine went to an outdoor public pool and decided to sneak in and take a swim. They didn't bring their suits but what the heck. They had a fine old time cooling off in the pool...until the police showed up. < I've gone skinny dipping but nothing that would make an amusing anecdote ever happened when I did. Well, there was that "guys showing up in canoes" incident... V Any incidents that were particularly mortifying at the time but are amusing now?
  21. You might try to find a Siberian. They apparently lack the enzyme that most folks are allergic to, so they are hypoallergenic cats! There are a few places around the country that breed them - if there are any near where you live, you might want to spend an afternoon hanging with the kitties and seeing if you get an allergic reaction.
  22. ^ A fully-equipped home gym and a personal trainer. < Maritime weapons class is this weekend - woo hoo! V Pass the question
  23. ^ Muzak < I like my job. V Pass the question along
