Still at work, writing the specs for a 3,000+ training program.

The freeway maintenance folks have just cut down the anise along a stretch of freeway. In my afternoon commute, after it has had a chance to warm up, it smells great!

It seems as if most of the out-of-town groups will be there the first weekend, since that was historically the one weekend they held Ojai (this two-weekend setup is new to this year.) Patt, Iron Bess and myself will be there the first weekend. If you decide to come down that weekend, stop by the Tales of the Seven Seas camp and ask for me - I'll give you a hand-made personal flogger. Those of us staying in hotels stay at the Oakridge Inn, which is the closest place to the faire. You should make your reservations soon, though...

Big Lots is starting to stock Halloween items - they have a pretty good collection this year!

Yeah, the Church is a changeable thing... When I was a wee girl, masses were still in Latin and the priest had his back to the congregation. I got the "you'll go to hell if you do this or this or this" or "you better not even THINK this or you're going to hell" but not really anything about "if you don't believe exactly the same way we do, you're going to hell." In Catholicism, it's all about the guilt...

We've got lots of fun planned! We're bringing some cannons and our Whitehall. And certain evens from San Francisco's history may be reenacted (think "Shanghaied"...) We're also planning an auction to benefit the Royaliste, so bring your doubloons!

Catholic? He sounds more like a Baptist to me... I was raised Catholic - the whole "all of you non-believers are going to hell" schtick is more of a Christian kind of thing. Was he a convert?

Yes, "farm" being such a hot commodity these days...

^ I've always been fond of the Arts and Crafts style furniture, ever since I was a kid. I like the clean lines. < I bought a lot of my furniture from a place called the Wooden Duck. They recycle wood from buildings around the world to make their furniture, mostly out of teak. Check them out! V Pass the question.

Lady B - I think that depends on what you mean by "gone". If they died while you were still in love, then yes, the odds are you will always love them. But for a lot of us, the ability to get over someone does not mean we didn't ever love them in the first place. I was truly in love with my ex; at the time I felt as if he was the love of my life. But, as sometimes happens, life dealt us a few jabs and each of us handled the situation differently. Eventually, we decided that it would be best for us to part. It took a LONG time to get over him, but I did eventually get over him - completely. To suggest that because I was able to get over him meant that I never loved him would be incorrect. If that were the case, I wouldn't have been capable of getting into another relationship with all of those unresolved feelings. No one would be any good in a second or third relationship if we could never get over our first love. The heart is a wacky thing, but pretty resilient. Real heartache does take time to get through, but you do get through it.

What colour? I recommend claret - that's the colour of Jack's and my bedroom and it looks great.

I don't collect "collectables" per se, but besides books and edged weapons I have a fairly decent collection of wooden boxes. And I don't mean the little boxes meant to hold "wee treasures" - I mean real boxes, mostly hand-made. I have an antique Chinese apocathary box, a couple of fairly large mahogany boxes made by Sarah Christianson (considered to be one of the finest woodworkers in North America) a couple of antique carpenter's chests, some smallish boxes, an antique spice box and an oak Stickley chest.

Hey - looks like someone is trying to sell a farm at a good price! Better get it while you can. (Geez guys - spelling...)

Ransom?... Those little sour candies are also from Canada, but unlike chocolate Smarties, you can get them in the U.S. The U.K. Smarties are a bit different. The chocolate isn't quite as good as the Canadian version but the candy coatings actually have different flavours. The same Smarties security problem happened to my aunt as well. We both thought it was pretty amusing.
-
Shrunken head - heh. My luggage was opened and inspected once because the security folks saw some mighty suspicious objects in it.... Smarties. (For those of you who are not from Canada or the UK, Smarties are just like M&M's - except the Canadian version has better chocolate.)

And I think it's safe to say that most of us here are smart enough not to read posts with the subject of "Online Casinos" or "Britney Spears Pornshot".

I ran into this awhile back. Apparently, Christmas crackers are considered explosive devices. I'm not kidding.

Since spammers join the forum and post the same way we do, how would the administrators go about creating a utility that would automatically put an icon next to their posts? Or are you suggesting they should go in after the fact and put that icon there? Wouldn't it make more sense to simply delete the spammage?

The movie follows the book fairly well and it was a strange book. I was wondering if they were going to put certain scenes in the movie and they did - such as the aforementioned orgy. Saw the Libertine awhile back. If you liked the costumes in Perfume, you'll LOVE them in the Libertine. I found Johnny Depp's character a bit dark and disturbing, but that's the point.

Edamame salad from Trader Joe's.

Iron Bess, if you ever come up thisaway and go sailing with us, we'll make sure you get Dramamine. I get seasick too, if I can't see the horizon. That's a great sailing rig. Iron Jack's looking to put a rig up on his Whitehall and that might work...

A family of fuzzy ferrets dancing the Fandango.

What?? You missed the orgy? "Lurid" is the word that came to mind for me. Good costuming, though.

Adjustable? Soft and breathable? Gorgeous cut and fabric? What more could a girl want?
