I agree that the treasure chest idea is pretty Awesome. However after some thought I realized I have quite a few chests for this or items that look like chests in this bar. Although a pirate can never have enough booty, I don't want this piece to be lost in the clutter. Bright, Those are some Awesome pics. Wish I could get a real Dartboard made with the WWPD? Wow Learn something new everyday. Sadly I'm not digging the Heart as a way to dress up the board. And I got a good laugh out of the Dutch symbol but those letters have a different meaning amongst my crew and I won't get into that whole story here. LOL! Keep the ideas coming Capn Antonio Malasses

MEAT!!!

This sort of goes hand-in-hand with the Pirate Bar Necessities topic however I want to keep the two topics separate. As we get closer and closer to completion on my pirate bar it has become apparent that the room itself is quite plain and that it will be the decorations and accents that will give the room "life". Which leads me to my dart board cabinet: As you can see the case itself is pretty plain. And since 90% of the room is wood toned it sort of gets lost. So we're trying to brainstorm ways to liven it up a bit. A few ideas we have are making a smaller version of my 3D wood Jolly Roger and just splitting it in so the doors can open. Or I can make the same thing but instead of the swords make darts. Like this The final idea I had was painting a faded version of the East India Trading Company's symbol on the front as if the dart cabinet was made from one of their crates. Any thoughts? or Other Ideas? Thanks in advance for your help Capn Antonio Malasses

I'd LOVE to find some old lanterns. Since this is a basement bar I would probably hang them on the walls as opposed to hanging them from the rafters. I have a few candle holders around but the lanterns are a cool idea. Keep the ideas coming Capn Antonio Malasses

Some REALLY Great ideas here. Keep'em comin! I posted some rough pics of the bar earlier. I decided to go with black marble tile for the bar top instead of wood to try and bring some color to the room. We do have a barrel mounted in the wall that we are going to run filtered water out of. The talking parrot is a Really funny idea. We do have a little one running around however I think the vulgar parrot would be more appropo for this crew. Love the Charts and Maps ideas! I currently have a black wooden table that I topped with an inlayed layer of Leather. Once the bar is done I plan to move on to carving a map into the leather. Also I Love the Bell and rope ideas. Anyone know of cheap places to find them at? Thanks for the great ideas. And more would be appreciated. Capn Antonio Malasses

Yeah I told my wife we'd be in this house for 5 t0 7 years. This June will be 5 years but I've put SO MUCH work into this house especially my Pirate Basement that I don't want to move now. EVER! LOL! Ye be building a pirate bar (other then booze and wenches) what be else does yer bar need? To make this easier lets say this be yer own private bar not a pub for just any stow away to wander into. What does a pirate bar need? What would be something Awesome you'd like to have in your bar? Capn Antonio Malasses
