  1. My Dear Searles Family~

Many thanks for hosting such a wonderful event and accomodating my Poppa Ratsey and all his photo adventures. He has started posting them on our site, keep checking back, there will be many more. Wish I could have made it up there, perhaps next year. As always, we love being able to spend time with our Pyrate Family!! Hope to see you all at FTPI!!

    With Love,

    Momma Ratsey

Thx for the great Pic's............Yo Ho

  2. Good Mr Couper - Excellent photos of the event. It takes a very good photographer to make the likes of me look even remotely presentable and you've certainly achieved such in the several photos I was lucky enough to be in. My Maria, however, always looks good and it's nice I didn't detract. Bravo to you sir!

Michael B - Finally meeting you and your lovely frau, Capt J and his excellent lady Janet, Red Jessi & Patrick, and Mark G was a treat and I hope we can be neighbors in camp again soon.

GJB.......It was our pleasure......hope to see you soon..........Yo Ho

  4. On behalf of all Searle's Bucaneers we wish to say thank you for making this event the best one yet. I hope that everyone that made the trip had a safe and memorable time. We had people from as far away as Texas and Ohio. We had people from 9 different states come to this years event. For those that missed the fun, now is the time to make plans for next years event.

This year we had 92 men, women and children at the Fountain of Youth and the battle downtown, that is up from the 81 we had last year. The rain stayed away (a light drizzle was all we got) and the weather was perfect for camping!

Thanks again to everyone for making Searle's 2011 a rousing success!

    Your Searle's Buccaneers officer Core,

    Captain William Kunze

    Lt.. Jeff Johnson

    Sgt. Doug Pummel

    Insign. Willie Wobble

    Chief Scribe Conrad Matt

Huzzah.....10x ......to SB.......we are bringing the tent next year.........again.....HUZZAH

  5. Just talked to number of pirates on Skype from the camp of the Mercury. Capt J was kind enough to fly me in (electronically speaking) as they drank rum and wine and ate oysters in the half shell. they are having way too much fun. There's even talk of walking down to the old Anti-pirate fort to raise the flag.

Well Quartermaster........Your Crew Behaved itself as much as as bunch of pirates could.......and we were such a lucky crew that we got our picture on the front page of the SAR.......and we will bring you your share as soon as we see you.......Yo Ho

PS.....Huzzah to Lt. Jeff, Capt. William, Ensg. Willie Wobble, Sgt. Doug, and all of S.B... that made this raid possible......most wonderfull........Huzzah x10

  6. It has the Cannon School listed on their events calendar for Saturday September 10, 2011 and Sunday September 11, 2011

    ""Artillery Safety School

This safety school features hands on training on Sat. morning, with some blank cannon firing in the afternoon. Sunday morning features live firing from 10am unti 12 noon.""

But I didn't see anything regarding applications, registration deadlines or such, is there more information on this?

Aye....Just call the fort on a thursday or friday....speak with Darryl and he will aim you in the right direction.......I will be attending this one !!!!!!!

  7. We are watching movies, reading books, and posting here on the pub. 12" since 6 a.m. and still heavily falling here near Warsaw, MO. The DOT shut-down the main trunk highway, and it looks like nobody is going anywhere for a couple of days.

How 'bout ya'll? What are you doing to pass the time?

    Bo

Drinking rhum in Grubville Mo........Yo Ho

Maser Alan and I built a rope making machine it only does three strand in it's state but the next one will be a gear driven 4:1 ratio six strand machine. I was planning to make the new line from sisal binder twine either green or white mabee even striped who knows!!!!!

i say full speed ahead.........and drinks all around.......and i partial the striped idea.........Yo Ho

I spoke with Darryll at the Fort today........He accepted the request for us to move our crue site to a shady spot........one that has a large enough area to accept more tents a large tree for shade and to accept a mast if were inclined to do a living histiory demo utilizing sail,rigging,... and the rest if it is decided to be presented in that fashion as QM William suggested.,........also C- Darryll out of the clear blue told me that he wants us to do the tug o war and that he needs a new rope..........so there you go...Yo Ho!!!!!

  10. I was thinking that if we are going to take charge of the tug of war again I could make a 1 1/2 inch line say fifty feet long to donate to the fort. What do you think? It would be better than we had to work with last time.

I think the new rope is

a good thing ......very noble offer........

  11. Has anyone got or heard the official dates for the June rendezvous for the Fort? Its not on the website yet....

The main glitter of the event is held the first weekend in June,as you probably know....... that should be the the 4th and 5th.......the Fort allows camp set up probably starting on May 30th or so......dont know for sure yet.........The Fort has not updated their web page yet.........I am in contact with Darryll Duesing with the Fort doing the footwork for our QuarterMaster as to how the Mercury Crue may be participating at the event this year.. will post more info when it becomes available.........hopefully the crues participation at the event will be larger this year......

    Yo Ho

  12. Cannon firing school will be held again this year at Fort De Chartres in early September..........class held for two days......really cheap and comes with a certification......will post more info when available....

    BOOM !

  13. Well master Alan and I have discussed it and would like to attend your event if you would have us. Do you have a need of any particular display? Can we get a little room to swing our hammocs? Should I bring materials for fancy knotting? Or would a simple demonstration of general knot tying aboard ship be more in line with the spirit of this event?

Huzzah !!!!!!!! C&A Look forward to seeing you both Again!!!!!!!!! Capt. J...

  14. Michael & Kate called me asking about hotels (for those of you who want to go that route) and my suggestion is to use Priceline for downtown Columbus. I usually bid $50 a night for 3.5 star and above and get the Hyatt, which is about 2 or 3 blocks from the ship. Others have gotten the Doubletree which I believe is a bit closer. The Hyatt is a very nice hotel IMO. The total with taxes for the weekend ends up being about $125.

    THX Mate..... I will try priceline........Capt. J...

  15. I ain't good fer nuthin'. Can I still come?

Please do.... I'm tired of being the only one who is gud far nuttin!

    Mickey,

For some reason my wife (Lass) takes pride in all that French Canadian blood that runs through her vanes....so you are not alone !!!!!!!! Yo Ho!!!!!!!!!!

And the only Canadian to boot. Seriously mate, let me know what you need or if you have any questions. are we linked on Facebook? (Do you use Facebook?) If you do use Facebook contact me there so I can add you to the organizational group board so you can get a good idea of the variety of folks and ideas that surround the event.
