Oh, I forgot to mention... I was introduced to a drink called "shrub" that was popular in America during colonial times. This particular version was Spirit free and was made from a vinegar syrup and a raspberry flavoring. It was a bit shocking to the nose at first but was very smooth and delightful.

Apple Pie has taken on a life of its own here. I shared several gallons with my CW reenacting group and it has spread far and wide.
This is the time of year events start back up in Arizona and corresponds to the holidays.
some of these tools are awesome, same style as some of the fancy guns. by coincidence just last week I commissioned Casket Chris to make me a knapping hammer, with screwdriver tip.
Damn I need a metal lathe!

Master and commander is the go to movie for me. But while sitting and stitching leather or whatever I'm working on, I will watch Last of the Mohicans, the 1st POC, Treasure Island (Charleton Heston) and sometimes Firefly!

June 7
On this day in 1692, a massive earthquake devastates the infamous town of Port Royal in Jamaica, killing thousands. The strong tremors, soil liquefaction and a tsunami brought on by the earthquake combined to destroy the entire town.
This is William Brand's design. He is the Mercury Quartermaster and graphic designer extrordinaire. Since the Mercury crew is flung far and wide,
crew members have crafted several flags for events where they are the only Mercury crew attending. This one is only 54" by 40". Williams is like
8ft X 6ft and all hand-stitched linen pieces. I know cause I've helped repair it! It is quite a marvel.

Awesome project. Just finished a smaller version of the Mercury (compared to William's).
Lots of work but in the end it turned out fantastic. This was with very thin white leather rather than linen, with some black
accents on black wool.
stitched on both sides, it is definitely a labor of love.
