    The Pirates of the High Seas & Renaissance Fest is setting sail from October 11-13, 2024! The annual event celebrates the legacy of the pirates who once roamed the Gulf of Mexico and pillaged the Emerald Coast, telling the tale of Dominique Youx and his krewe of loyal buccaneers through staged pirate battles and storytelling.     The Kalamazoo Living History Show is the largest indoor event in the Midwest devoted to pre-1890 antique firearms; period clothing and crafts; re-enactment and living history supplies. More than 10,000 historical re-enactors, history enthusiasts, collectors and the general public from the United States and Canada are expected to attend the 47th annual Kalamazoo Living History Show™. The juried, nationally recognized show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16, 2025, at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center, Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds, 2900 Lake Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The show attracts over 200 of the finest artisans and vendors of pre-1890 living history supplies and related crafts from throughout the United States and Canada. Other highlights include children’s activities, Native American dancing and singing, and many artisans who will demonstrate their crafts.     To celebrate their capture of the City of Tampa, the Captain and his Krewe share their wealth – glittering beads, treasures and doubloons – with a lively, enthusiastic crowd all along the 4.5 -mile parade route. “Make way, mateys!” shout Tampa’s original buccaneers as they wind their way down historic Bayshore Blvd. and into downtown Tampa – amidst colorful costumes and festive music. The Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates will boast over 140 units – including more than 103 elaborate floats, 5 marching bands, over 50 distinct Krewes and, of course, those infamous YMKG pirates! The parade begins at Bay to Bay and Bayshore Blvd. It continues along Bayshore Blvd. to Brorein St., turns east on Brorein St., then north on Ashley Dr.. The parade ends at Cass St. & Ashley Dr. This event is free to the public. Reserved bleacher seating is available for the Parade of the Pirates.     In 1711 the pirates stormed Mobile Bay and attacked the island that was once called Massacre Island, because of a huge pile of human skeletons that was discovered by Pierre LeMoyne. Come and see the pirates as they pilfer and pillage the Isle of Dauphin and fight against Spanish and British Galleons. Who knows you may even find a pirates treasure!
