It is with a heavy heart that I must post this. Taz Crutchfield, known to may of you as Capt Remy of the Shadow Players Combat Group passed away last night. He was a great man and loved by many of us in the pirate community. He will be missed but at least now he is no longer in pain. I wish I had more to say but I just found out myself. I've only seen the ones at Walmart but am I the only one whose a little disappointed in the craftsmanship of the action figures this time around? They just looked poorly made and the painting was just as mundane. Also, it looks like on the top of Blackbeards hat there is an iron cross looking logo. Is it supposed to be a star or a compass rose of some kind? Never really seen anyone decorate the top of a tricorn before. At least to me the whole Blackbeard outfit looks a little to "Hot Topic" for my taste. Still can't wait to see the movie though!

Sounds good. The lapels look easy enough to draw my own pattern but it always helps to have a reference. Still deciding on what to do for cuffs. How'd the waistcoat I sent you work out?

I have a gray coat that is not finished yet. It started out as a old west style coat but Ive been looking at it and I'm thinking of changing the lapels and making it more into the style of coat Tim Curry wore in Muppet Treasure Island. Having a hard time finding pics or references to exactly what style they were going for or basing the design off of. Anybody have pics or links that would help?

Lots of references to crocodile shoes during the GAOP but have not found anything yet on sheaths or bags.

I was told by someone when I was working as Blackbeard at Teachs Hole back in 2000 that the logbook was destroyed in a fire in London in the 40's. Up until that time it was said to be part of a private collection on loan to a museum in London. The gentleman was from Bristol and had no resources other than local stories he hears from his father.

Capt Scurvys already been booked as entertainment so I'll be there.

It's from 11 - 4 that Saturday. It's a department of tourism event that combines the piratical history and other histories of Bath throughout the 16 th and 18th century with local music arts and crafts. Bens got the Blackbeard role for this one hence my appearance as Capt Scurvy. The website is BathFest.com. Leigh Swain is the contact person I was pit in touch with and her infos on the main page. I didn't know about it until this year either but they have been really great to deal with and very hospitable.

Just curious if anyone else is planning to attend Bath Fest on May 14. I could use some volunteers to help with my stage show by being hecklers. I also need one person who can read my arrest papers and clap me in Irons for an escape trick.

Okay so it's a width issue more than length. You could always put them on and tuck in some excess following the natural fold and flow of the fabric and have someone do a simple slip stitch along the fold. It will make it look less bulky but still keep the right shape

Found some pictures for reference but it's hard to tell. The pictures show them going the full length down to the footwear but doesn't look rolled. It looks almost like a drawstring pull covered by the footwear. I'll keep looking and if I find a better picture I'll post the link for you

During my recovery from back and hip replacement surgery I had two different walking sticks I took to events. Stll have one I pack each time but I don't use it as much anymore

Would love to see a pic of the sheath. I've never thought of using wire to lace it up.

Okay so you didn't use any type of core just let the leather form around the blade. What weight did you use?
