Hi, I'm new here, and also new to reenacting in general. After a long decision I decided to portray a Pirate from the Golden Age of Piracy. I'm in the process of making my costume, and I have everything except for the coat! I'm asking if any of you scalliwag's and rogue's of the sea, might have an old Frock Coat that you might want to part with at a good price! Thank ye, Storm Head Edward

I bought this paper off ebay cause of the story it tells. The print is small and it's way out of date ... but the story was that of a pirate/privateer so it interested me. 1813 newspaper w Trial of PIRATE & sentence of DEATH http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ADME:B:EF:US:11

Haven't posted recently, but I'm just starting to learn how to knit and crochet and I'm looking for a pattern for a pirate flag, either skull and crossbones or the Jack Rackham. Anyone know where I could find one? It's kind of a joke novelty prop for my crew. * * blackeye susan

Hi mateys! We've added more Captain Jack Sparrow coats (in wool) to our shop, some other pirate coats (also in wool) and more pirate-captain coats (with matching waistcoats). In about 2 months we hope to be carrying breeches and basic waistcoats too. Enjoy!

This seems to be the place to ask this question . . . I know many of you have made your own pirate flags. So, what is the "best" way to do it? (I want a plethora of opinions on this one) What is a way to make it "period"? What works best "day-to-day," regardless of period correctness. What is "easy"? What materials have you tried and what works well? Awful? Works but is a PITA? What "flutters well"? What stands up well" What about fading? I make a lot of my own stuff already, but would like opinions on flag making. I have started (but not finished) a flag based on modern "flag material." It DOES NOT look "right" to me, so I quit before I got even half way don…

Finding myself in the middle of a Fred and Barney scheme for pistol, blade (and blunderbuss???), I start to wonder about a longarm. I would hope to use said boomer for GAoP. but also if possible for F&I or even Rev war if I ever get involved. Though I wanted one the second I saw the Doglock Blunderbuss, possibly the better investment would be to go with a longarm??? Now comes the question which and why...... :) I've fount these two from Loyalist: 1728 1st model brown bess: http://www.loyalistarms.freeservers.com/fi...fantry1728.html Doglock musket http://www.loyalistarms.freeservers.com/do...oglockmusk.html Any advice? Anyone own one? God I luv starti…

Hi All, I'm not sure if anyone has any interest, but I've added a page to my www.clipclocks.com site that has some of the Pysanky (Ukrainian Eggs) that I created. I was "The Ukrainian Egg Lady" before I was the Time Keeper! I will be adding more, in the near future, that are displayed in my hand thrown pottery baskets, in shadow boxes and music boxes. But for now there are many to peek at on stands. The link to the Eggs is on my homepage near the bottom. Have fun looking!

LONDON, England -- Dozens of people spent the night salvaging wine and motorcycles washed up on Britain's south coast as it was confirmed 200 tonnes of oil has leaked from a beached cargo ship. Devon and Cornwall Police were meeting Monday with the Maritme and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and other agencies involved in the operation after the MSC Napoli was beached off the coast of Devon with 2,400 containers on board. There was a topic thread started once called Belly Dancing Pirates. I can't remember the gal's name that started it and I could not find any old old posts nor search's. I wanted to post a link here for her or any other's who are interested in that type of clothing to mix and match into their Ren Faire garb or Pirate Garb (sometimes I do). I love the Ghawazee coats and found today a fantastic site that had some. I made myself one for the Labyrinth Ball and was very very pleased with myself on how it came out. It almost looks like the gold on on this website. Ghawazee Coats

I'm looking for a good reasonable (up to $50) pirate type vest. It doesn't have to be completely period, but it shouldn't be made out of Satin with a huge skull and crossbones on it either.

Hello mates, We're finishing a story on Blackpowder and how it relates to piracy and how it was used. I also wanted to write up a sidebar on where pirates could go these days to learn about blackpowder weapons and how to fire them. It will pretty much be a laundry list of contact information. I've gotten info from the NRA, so that's taken care of. . . but are there other "academies of blackpowder" out there? Any help would be appreciated.
