Someone asked me where to buy PC stuff and darned if I could give her a direct answer. So I plowed through the threads here looking for a list of vendors and came up with a bunch. Note that I am not including fabric vendors or anything related to sewing - methinks that really belongs in the new forums in Pyrate Craft now. General Black Hand Trading Company - Consortium of craftsmen who make pirate and nautical items such as hats, tools, ditty bags, etc. Fall Creek Suttlery - focused on Civil War period G Gedney Godwin - an 18th C. Online Hypermart - Clothing, Gear, Musical Instruments, Medical Instruments, Shoes, Hat &c. Goosebay Workshops - C…

Rough Guide for those interested in Pirate Re-enacting First off, if you can sew… you can make your own clothes. But first you need a pattern. There are some basic patterns on my site Gentlemen of Fortune You just need to decide what you want to make them out of (hemp, linen, fustian, silk, wool) get the patterns and start sewing. If you have money to spend, you can find folks to make the stuff for you. The problem here is that for our period, I don't think that there is anyplace (or any website) where you can go and, with a few clicks, get your early 18th (or late 17th) century pirate stuff. Most folks that I know that make correct stuff do it in addition to t…

OK, we all need BUTTONS! But the fact of the matter is, buttons are expensive! Especially when you require them in the quantities we are talking about. And that is after you have paid for your linen, wool, hemp, braid, shoes, hat, belt, weapons ~ really, buttons are the last thing many of us want to sink a lot of money into. But a good button makes a difference. What would you say to a good looking 1 piece cast metal button (see below pic, buttons on the left), priced at a mere $0.25 each? These buttons are located at a factory in Italy, and I am considering puchasing a wholesale lot, but will have more buttons than I need ~ Interested persons should contact me directl…

I’m in the market for a pistol, I’m not seeking new and I’m not particularly concerned if it’s Indian made or not. Should anyone be interested I have a few (non pirate) items I can trade towards one, including an 1851 Navy revolver. I also do leatherwork and would be glad to trade that for or towards one. Pictures are examples of my work

Since there are now a few of us Pub members with Etsy sites, and more (I think) are considering opening up shops of their own on that forum, I thought it would be nice to have a place we could post updates of when we add new things for folks to check out. And, well, you know, with Christmas coming and all, it seemed like a good time to start this thread. So, ck here for announcements about all the things you can buy, made by your fellow Pub members who have set up Etsy shops to sell their fine wares. Better than Ebay, as there is no bidding...you see it, you like it, you buy it. Easy! I have added a few new items to my shop today, so click on the link in my signature,…

I want to make myself a pirate flag. I have the design ready but have no idea how to make one other than starting with a large rectangular peice of cloth. Does anyone out there made their own flags? What materials did you use? How did you put symbols on the flag? Painted on? Sewn on? Does anyone know how the Golden Age pirates such as Blackbeard or Calico Jack made theirs? Thanks for any help.

So I made the wooden inserts for these over a year ago and never put them together. These are very similar to the Whydah box, not exact but close. These are still in the raw. Dimensions 6 1/2in L x 2 1/2in W x 4in H. $75 shipped (within CONUS) I plan to oil them. They will eventually look like the dark one after seeing some sun.

I put this list together over in the Crafting your kit forum. We cant vouch for the suppliers, but many of them have been around for a while and at least there is a start for finding some proper kit. Some of it contains later 1700s era shoes and clothing, so you still have to dig a bit. Its pretty hard to find proper kit, but I'm adding more suppliers as we find them. Many suppliers have dropped off in the Covid and post Covid era. Linking to the Pyracy Forum thead here so we dont have to mantain the list in two places... LInk to Pyracy topic

“I’m in the market as it were” for a printable template from which I can build historical facsimile/replica of a quadrant. Specific year(s) not important (as long as it falls within the GAOP). I would be interested in both a maritime navigations quadrant and/or a artillerist’s quadrant. My own online searches have not been entirely fruitful. So I implore ye my brethren, does anyone know of any sites/links with high res scans and/or images that might serve as a template from which to reproduce a quadrant? Or does anyone have any scans, images, PDFs or other materials they might be willing to share?

Just finished the "Royale" nicknamed that after Pulp Fiction regarding a 1/4 pounder in Europe as a 1 inch lead ball is around a 1/4 pound. Solid bronze shaft was used for the barrel. The lock is Rifle Shoppe. The muzzle inscription roughly translated is "fire from an angry king" as was found on many period cannons. This would be good piece for a crew or for a ship.

A collectible, embroidered patch is now being offered with a two fold purpose. First, because patches are cool and should be available to anyone that has loved the Pub and would have something to celebrate it all the time, and second, the funds will be used to maintain the Pub as a forum and archive. These will be 4.25" x 2.75" with iron-on backing and a merrowed border. Suitable for jackets, hats, duffle bags, backpacks, and about anything else one might put patches to. Please help support a run (and perhaps an overrun for future funding) by listing how many you'd like. The patches will be $10 for 1 or 3 for $25. Prices include domestic shipping in the U.S. (pleas…

I wasn't sure if I could post in the old threads or not, but since the topics weren't mine I figured I would go on and make a new thread. I have literal tons of pewter buttons that Renfairepirate had poured, along with some breast cancer pins. He ascended to Pirate Heaven in October of 2014, and I don't want to melt them down (especially the ones that are already antiqued). Pouring these buttons was an extensive hobby of his, one that he turned into a business on here and eBay to the satisfaction of hundreds of people over the years. I will be continuing his craft once I no longer have countless boxes of his buttons (and maybe I won't take a Save the Wubblies to the …

Well, a lifelong dream of full self-employment doing yacht rigging and diving is finally underway for me this year. I have big hopes for 2010 and bigger plans for years coming. Part of this is Buccaneer Ropeworks a company devoted to traditional rigging, custom fancywork, and other products of general pirate-y interest. Pictured below are a handful of items currently for sale as well as samples of the sort of work that I do. I'm currently working on a line of knotted bottles as well as some voodoo themed items inspired by the book, "On Stranger Tides". I also stock a variety of sizes of manila 3-strand at very competitive prices as well as sewing palms, real sail nee…
